I mean, for instance, when I look in OT at the oldest threads, they're mostly started no longer than 2 or 3 months ago?
Where do all the older threads (from years ago) go to? Are they deleted or are they stored somewhere.
And is there any criterium for a thread to be removed or is it automatically removed if no one posts in it for (f.i.) 2 months or so?

If you look at the bottom of the forum, there's a section that says "Showing threads 1 to 45 of 1257, sorted by last post time in descending order, from last 60 days." If you change the "last 60 days" to "the beginning," you'll be able to see all threads in that forum.

You can see older threads by changing the forum view to show all threads "from the beginning"...

No, that's where old forums go, not old threads. The reason why you can only see threads from a few months ago, addiv, must be because you have "past 100 days" or so as the sorting option in the bar just below the last thread shown. If you choose "the beginning" option, you can see all the extremely old threads. The oldest OT thread's last post was in December 19, 2000.

AFAIK, old threads aren't deleted because of being too old, with the exception of old forums being archived and then deleted. (But that's different, because these forums are usually deleted when they become pretty much useless.) However, this server can't hold an unlimited amount of stuff, so I wonder when old threads will have to be deleted.

I usualy have that on Default. But I normaly dont look in the Depths of the Second page (Unless it is an important Stragity that I might need)

Sort of on the same topic, I've noticed that when you edit posts and delete attachments, only the link is removed from the post, the attachment isn't removed from the server.

Since this seems wasteful of space, maybe this could be changed, or someone could go through every now and then and delete all of the attachments that are no longer linked.

Are you sure about that? I asked JelSoft (vBulletin developer) once and they said the files are deleted from the server when you delete the attachments from edit post screen.
