Where do you buy your parts from?

I get my parts through a small store, not known, it's run inside an apartment. The guy orders the parts, installs them, installs whatever software you need, and gives you a decent deal.

I look around a lot. Read some tech sites and their forums. Read reviews enthusiest/overcklocker's forums. You"ll get an idea of where people look for parts, especially specialty parts. These sites/forums will also have links to pricing comparisons and/special pricing(deals). Another good thing about the forums is that if when shopping you come accross a company that ytou haven't heard of you may find info about them there.

But I'm the type of buyer that sits on my money until a good deal comes along. If your not careful its easy to overspend.

Well in the UK the highstreet shops are a very poor value when compared to web shops. Therefore i almost exclusivly buy from ebuyer.com

I buy almost everything at newegg. I think they only ship the US though, so it isn't for everyone. Some things off ebay.

Once you know, you Newegg.

one of the good things about newegg is if you give a testimonial on their site about your experience you get all sort of cheap crap mailed to you. I buy all my parts from newegg. And they always have some sort of sale going on. I got $40 off my last order.

Online I usually go to newegg, but there are a few local computer shops that tend to have older parts (which newegg seems to lack).

You mean in addition to the regular newsletter promos? Maybe I should start reviewing my purchases...

No. Talking about the newsletter coupons

Maybe I should start reviewing my purchases...

Not product reviews. https://secure.newegg.com/Newversion/FeedBack/PostTestimonials.asp Give feedback (I've only given good so I don't know if they give you gifts for bad ones) and withing 24 to 48 hours they will ship a small gift to you. This time around I got a hat and a shirt. Last time I got a pen, hat, and one of those multi function calcs. Of course they all bare their logo (the new hat has a camera company on it, something with a C along with the newegg logo and the shirt also has an AMD logo)

newegg.com here, too.

ChiefValue.com( different storefront for Newegg), Directron.com, ZipZoomFly.com, mWave.com, ClubIT.com, Fry's.com.

Don't be afraid to check out regular stores like CompUSA and Best Buy. I got a BFG 8800 GTS OC2 640 mb video card from BB for $316.00 and an Antec Quattro 850 W PSU from CompUsa for $129.00. Also my Antec 900 case was only $89 from them as well. Bought my monitor at Staples, of all places. They had Samsungs on sale.

I'm pretty sure that everything I have ordered from the egg has arrived in two days on regular ground UPS shipping. So far, they have definately been the best in that area. Except, the one thing I ordered from TigerDirect, can't remember what it was, arrived pretty quick also.
