Where is the next city?

Here's mine (which is a bit more long term).

red = current cities.
pink = 2nd ring cities
light pink = 3rd ring cities
(more info in the Future City Placement thread)

I have the cities numbered by where I think we should build. (one and two can be switched, since we should build the 2 settlers in rapid succession) I also matched them up by the amount of production they can give based on the terrain (by the time rails come online). But, we should build on the hill between the cattle and game for quick growth and production. We need workers in there, too.

URGENT:
we now have 2 threads on the same topic. could we please stop that as it will lead to no conclusion and to enerved citizens ?

so i believe we should keep detailed discussion on the NEXT city and only that one in here and the GENERAL discussion in the other thread.

here is my proposal, i second ct's proposal above for city #1

though i believe i could also second donsigs proposal, which would be 2 tiles nw of the proposec city#1.

our next city should be two tiles NW of spot #1 in the latest map.

In general, I like CT's map and wish to thank her for prompting this discussion towards the long term. The map is excellent! :goodjob:

We need a :king:!

I agree with CT's map, but due to the impending conflict with Azteca, I'd propose switching #1 and #2. In my map (see below), I've marked the spot as "A".

From this spot, we would automatically extend the road towards the Aztecs by one tile and the city would be in a position to take advantage of the cattle, the spices and Doughnut Forest. I think this location offers a good center for rapid growth as well as a strategic rally point for the upcoming war.

We'll also need to build roads to our next city spots, and at the same time, build them over the most productive tiles. (bonus sheidls, food, etc.).

the problem with spot A is that it is in bright danger of directly being captured. we would have to station at least 2 units there which we will lack in the war.
remember jags have a 2 moovement... they can go in fast without us doint anything against them.

There should be none but perhaps a few exploring Jags wandering about that should be able to attach that far behind our lines.

Besides, we intend to take the fight to the Aztecs! If we cannot keep their troops from penetrating that far behind our lines, then we need to rethink our troop deployment strategy.

they could come from the south-east. we likely attack south west. we wont have enough troops to be everywhere, and i believe their territory spreads completely thru our south and not only south west.

Chieftess' city site 1 makes most sense to me. We do need a settler factory. Also, it only makes sense, since the settler that would found the city would be from nearby Valhalla.

Let us build Octavinium soon!

Well, octi, the honoured citizens come first to name it :-)
So says the law...
So it will be all the 4-5 honoured first, then eklek and then you :-P

Dis, I wasn't aware that anyone has received Honors yet. It was my understanding that none of the Citizen Honor polls reached quorum.

If there are citizens with Naming Rights, then I need to update the Registry of City Names.

Here's the map you requested honored leader. As always, the Cartographic Office is pleased to provide you with top-quality maps.
