Where Should I Expand

Im on a earth map (on regualar civ 4) and i'm playing as germany.

Could you post the save game file? It would help us to know what the the situation looks like. Off the bat, I'd say into Russia. Going into Africa would increase maintenance from distance to palace. I would like to see your options. I'm sure this would help other people in answering your question as well. Currently we don't have much to work on.

As the germans I would suggest expanding into Asia, taking the western part of Russia under your domain, before the Persians get it. Leave African for the Egyptians for now, but make sure you grab Europe. With 4 civs starting there thats a lot of strategic resources.

Doesn´t the tips say "never fight a land war in Asia"? Otoh it also says that the wisest men follow their own direction.
I would probably go east rather then south given this limited knowledge, just don´t over-expand, asia is big.

That is why there are airplanes.
Take europe, perhaps england and then take western russia and cottage spame there.
