I bought Civ5: Campaign Edition using the App Store (was on sale for $20) and I want to install the ingame editor mod. I've edited the menu file that enabled the activation of mods, but I don't know where to put the folder with the actual mod. :(

Hi, welcome. Put them in:

~/Documents/Aspyr/Sid Meier's Civilization 5/MODS

Where '~/' means your Home folder - /Users/<your-name>/

I've seen people say that, then I tried it and realized I didn't have that directory. So I tried to make it and put the mod in there but the game still says I don't have any mods installed.

Apologies. I'm getting confused in my old age :old:. They changed it ....

Try:

~/Library/Containers/com.aspyr.civ5campaign/Data/Library/Application Support/Civilization V Campaign Edition/MODS

Don't forget that ~/Library is hidden as of OS X 10.7. You need to hold down Alt and select Go in the Finder to select Library.

Thanks that worked :D
And I found out that the Library directory was hidden when I first upgraded to Lion :P
I was confused until I figured it out.

Which version? App Store or Steam? The application has to be there, otherwise you would not be able to play it!

i just meant is step two necessary because i can already find the civ5 mac app store version in finder

i resolved it so nvr mind but for the text do i copy paste everything in the area of ur guide that says to copy it? THANKS V.I.P

@AlanH hey.. so ive done everything youve told me to do from your instructions while trying to install the Ingame Editor for the Mac App Store version of the game (G&K):
1. I enabled the Mods button (I see it in game)
2. I replaced the InstalledPanel.xml in both the DLC and Regular FrontEnd locations
3. I unzipped the ingame editor files into a single file and dragged the file to the ~/Doucments/Aspyr location.. In this case it seems an update made this path the new path for the "MODS" folder; ~/Documents/My Games/Sid Meier's Civilization 5/MODS
4. I cleared the "Cache" folder just in case

But after all of that, I still don't see the installed mod in my mods list ingame.. I've been sitting here for hours trying to troubleshoot but theres nothing.. I know this this probably the millionth time you've tried to answer this but I am stuck on this one and I really would like to get mods up and running on this.. thanks

Try putting it in ~/Library/Containers/com.aspyr.civ5campaign/Data/Library/Application Support/Civilization V Campaign Edition/MODS

They seem to go in different places in different versions of OS X.

ahh that did the trick, thanks my man.. anybody else that has this problem too, to show ur library, go to "Terminal" in ur Utilities and type "chflags nohidden ~/Library/" to show the library.. the actual "MODS" folder will be in there

You can just hold the Alt key down and select Go in the Finder to show the Library option. That gives you access to ~/Library/ in OSX 7 and 8. See post #4
