Where's the uranium?!

As I make no secret of my love of nuclear weapons in Civ 5 (this is not the thread topic, it's just related!) Uranum is a resource I prize quite highly.

However, in recent games, I've noticed that it's abundance seems to have wained and on a standard map, usually continents or pangea, it's becoming harder to find.

Has anyone else noticed that Uranium seems to be becoming scarcer than it used to be? Even when I've got Satellites and am looking across the whole map it seems to be unusually rare in my recent games compared to those a few months back.

Where's it gone? Or is the AI fixing the game because it knows how I roll!

Uranium always seems to be really rare. I rarely ever have it in my lands.

You will need to play on a big map if you expect uranium to spawn inside your land. Unless you do that, you'll need to launch some invasions to get it.

Once got 3 sources of uranium in my (relatively) small territory...each one also produced four units so with 12 total uranium I got the best of both worlds with nuclear plants and plenty of nukes.

lol then I should be auto nuked everytime I start a game. I also love the nukes, except if somebody else have uranium and I don't. uranium was never hard to find (but hard to find more than 1) in civ 4. in civ 5 I haven't played long enough for it to appear.
