Canada contributed a lot to the modern world. A Canadian railroad engineer invented time zones. When the Chinese wanted to make a railroad to Tibet they got Canadians to design it. We had one fifth of the D-Day beaches and advanced the farthest on Day One. Canada liberated several countries during WW II and actually had to stop advancing so the British and Americans could liberate Paris and Berlin.
Alexander Graham Bell was a Canadian, the first phone call was made from Canada. Lester B Pearson did end the Suez Canal Crisis. Canada is a major supplier of raw materials to both the American and before that the British Empire, hell Japan, China, Korea etc. The US always requests key Canadian units whenever they invade a country particularly the Engineering Corp and JTF2.
Canada has historically punched above their weightclass in major world conflicts, we signed up for both World Wars well before the US did, literally years before. A Canadian unit holds the record for longest time spent as a POW and most casualties while POW, the Canadians were defending Hong Kong when Japan invaded, spent years in Japanese camps. Canada was used as a training ground for the BAF and many top British Aces were in fact Canadian.
Then there is your American Culture, A Canadian director made Avatar and Titatanic and other American Hollywood blockbusters. We even gave the world Justin Bieber. But also Leonard Cohen, Neil Young, Joni Mitchell, Margaret Atwood, Michael Ondatje etc. etc.
Canada is also a popular tourist destination, so with the renewed emphasis on Tourism & Culture, Hollywood North and all the "American" movies that are made in Canada not to mention all the hordes that come to see Niagra Falls and other Canadian landmarks. If Brazil gets to be a Civilization, why doesn't Canada?
We have a larger economy, we built the Canada-Arm, a Canadian recently commanded the International Space Station, has a Brazilian ever been in space, let alone commanded the International Space Station?

Well, I don't think any of these qualify Canada to be a civ. Contributing to WWII is incredible, and well worthy of our unending respect, but, and I feel terrible saying it, it doesn't rank it up there with Rome or England in terms of influence, plus, much of that is exaggeration, to say Canada, single handedly liberated a few countries an outright lie, although they did contribute more than most to the liberation of the Netherlands, that's true.
Alexander Graham Bell was, like me, a Scot. He lived in Canada for a while, but was not Canadian by any stretch of the imagination, which, unfortunately, makes me question the rest of your support for Canada.
Inventions wise, these are the contributions of individuals, and not Canada, more incredible inventions have come from the minds of Scottish people than from most other nations, but I do not ask for a Scottish Civ, simply because they haven't, as a culture or as a nation, made enough impact. As for exporting raw materials, that's a silly idea for inclusion as a Civ, Bahrain exports much of our oil, which we rely on for plastics and fuel, should we include them as a civ? heck no.
You kind of proved my point there with the culture thing, its essentially far too similar to the US. (as a side note, I despise avatar, it sucked, though titanic is pretty good, but, I digress)
Niagra falls, is again, a stupid reason for inclusion, as it is natural, should we include Uganda because it has lake Victoria? That has nothing to do with its achievements as a nation.
As for those singers... will that matter in 3000 years?
Brazil gets to be a civilization because it is unique in colonial nations for having an actual powerful empire, and for creating its own very unique culture.
Going to space, again, is unimportant, and reflects little on Canadas lasting cultural and historical influence. Maybe, given more time, Canada will be worthy of inclusion, but just step back and read your list and ask how much of it will be important in 2000 years.
Sorry, I love Canada, but its just not a civ.
Plus, much of what you said is either a lie, or misinformed, so I have a hard time believing any of it.
