Which Civs are your Nemesis??

I used to think it was the French--in two previous games in a row, the French constantly violated my borders and kept declaring war on me when I told them to get out. They got spanked every time, and never learned.

But right now, my nemesis is Persia. In my current game (Romans, huge pangea, 3 million years), they had a few cavalry units in my territory (but the AI always does that, so I wasn't worried), and launched a sudden and devastating sneak attack, capturing a size 18 city guarded only by a EMPTY army, and destroying my military academy!

They did this when their best military unit is cavalry, to my infantry and tanks, when I could retake that city next turn and wipe half their empire off the *&^@# map ten turns after that.....

Oh well, maybe the AI is just programmed to imitate real world leaders--they do stupid things in the real world too. :)

You asked for it.Leaving a city defenseless or with 1 weak defender
you can expand a sneak attack from the AI.
On the other hand I saw the AI once make a real dump move by sneak attacking me with a impi while the defender was a mech. inf. .

Actually, in my Romans game, my neighbors were always strolling past my undefended cities and leaving me alone. Japan has been real friendly that way. Heck, one of their workers even walked into my territory and irrigated a few squares next to one of my cities. :)

That's awesome!

It was probably to create an irrigation chain. If not, then just accept it as a gift.

I hate the persians because they agree to a military alliance, fight one battle, then declare peace!

They did that to me in my Romans game too. The kicker is that they sent EIGHTY-FIVE infantry divisions against me (all in ONE place, too! the AI did something right for once....), so that counts as an entire war right there. Ya never saw such a slaughter!

I really hate the CHINESE they are always getting on mi nerves, because they attack me without any good reason, And sometimes the AZTECS :scan:

I dislike the Zulus and Romans. Zulus are always making tremendous wars but if you win them you do not get good cities, and Romans are always bullying me in the early game.

Germans are the most pain in the back ,but on the other hand they always do the same. Threaten, attack, and get conquered. If you can stand their first attack you can conquer them as they seem to use all their force. Plus they will never betray you, because they always tell you you are going to be destroyed!!!

I've had so much trouble with Ghandi it's disgusting. The guy is supposed to be a pacifist yet in every game I border him, he becomes an agressor and declares war one me, once, twice, even three times in one game. He's a war monger I tell you. Another is Greece. I played one game where I was warring with Greece on and off for thousands of years and nearly every time we went to peace after I captured a few cities, they flip flopped and I regretted not obliterating them. Plus, Alexander just looks like a jerk.

I hate the Byzantines, because they're too easy and rarely manage more than ten cities before they get crushed, usually by me. (I'll probably push the difficulty up in a while)

I have not played enough games militarily to have a nemesis.

However, I think the Ottomans and Arabians have been my biggest nuisances.
