Which Civs are your Nemesis??

the germans are really annoying, i had a perfectly good emperor game as the hittites ruined because of them. I was killing them all in science and expension and was founding my sixth city before they had their third. But they declared war on me and i wasn't prepared so most of my cities got captured and i quit. i tried to play last world without the germans, but it got messed up and i got a completely different thing

while reading this i noticed that nearly all the civs are hated. Civs that people like other people hate. I have never had a problem with the celts but they always seem to conquer alot of territory, and if you do start by the germans, defend your cities, i really have this problem i sometimes have ICBM's and still have pikemen defending :)

i cant stand the engilsh. god everytime, always deleted and moaning stupid lady. them and the arabs. they always have a tiny country and decide to attack me anyway. so stupid. the english always build like 4 billion man-o-wars and just sit on my coast bombarding my cities. the portuguese are my homies. i always ally wit them

I always go after Rome and France first to get them out of the way and allow me to expand in both directions easily (besides my Ubermench need wine). But the civ I hate the most would have to be Persia, they are always hard to deal with and often times will backstab you in the end.

My least favorite civ on civ3 is the koreans. they always sneak attack my Empire. When that happens, I usually destroy them within 3 turns with my super-units.

In civ2, my most hated civ is USA, because of traits they have in real life (impatient religious zealots, for one)

I must apologize for these remarks. I let my own personal biases get in the way, and I apologize if I have offended anyone. Thank you.

Lately it’s been Scandinavia. I, the Americans share a large land mass with China, I having the larger share. Scandinavia is on a large nearby island. The darn Vikings keep invading and I keep throwing them out in a matter of a turn or two. It’s occurred 5 times now! So finally I’ve invaded them. I even brought alone a settler and built a city , but now of course China wants to war also. Why don’t they just let me build my army uninterrupted? I’m going to reduce them (Scandinavia) to one city and bombard them whenever I get the itch.

Japan is set in my mind as the Nemesis.

In my current Emp game as Iroquois both Portugal and Spain have demanded
tribute from me  . I gave in to Portugal and declined Spain (defense
was ready for them). Later as I got a few Mounted Warriors made and
expanded toward Portugal some- a stack of 6 and another stack of 4 warriors
made their way into my terr. . I demanded them to leave and they said OK ;) , 2 turns later I asked again & they(Portugal) declared war.
Let the :hammer: begin, I just need to decide whether I am going to start
my Golden Age or not :D . I also have FIVE ivorys around my capital city, so
I will have Ancient Cav pretty soon. It is about 50BC. Spain will join the war
for EVERYTHING a have, but I will hold off on that. If they attack me though
I am way out of position now  .

which brings up a few questions. Do the Ancient Cav upgrade to Knights?

Should I only make a few Mounted Warriors, because I have ACs, and hold
off on my Golden Age until a better 'time'?

no, they do not upgrade.. AC you better use all you want right away because they provide little use later on... they dont do anything.. their just good horseman IMO.

atleast crusaders can be "non-defenceless" fort builders during a war.

gather your AC and toher troops

if spain attack then uses your UU to start golden age to speed production and give'em hello im moving in!

my opinion.

what i would try. (.. but im still new so... :p )

The Zulu mainly but more recently the Spanish and Portugeese.

  That is funny because I'm stuck between Spain and Portugal in
my current game and they are trying to gang up on me  .

Any civ that tries to bully me around, especially Xerxes. It seems like Persia is usually close to me and are very selfish and sneaky.

I like Ghandi (in civ3), because he's my only chance of getting the ai's to throw nuclear weapons at each other  :nuke:

Damn Sumerians..
Since i got C3C, if they are in my game, they seem to always be the most powerful AI civ, usually on another continent/island from me..

I don't know if it is there agri trait getting them more land and bigger cities, or there scientific trait getting them loads of money by selling techs to AIs, i don't know. Probably a combo of them both..

1. Iroquois - They're always expanding and attacking my allies in my games.
2. America - Lincoln seems to like to make outrageous demands during ancient times for no other reason than to get :hammer:'d during medieval wars.
3. The Dutch - They always seem to rub me the wrong way, and despite supposedly having a 2 for aggression, seem to love to annihilate other ai.
4. France - Usually reliable allies of mine, one game they went crazy, changed to communism, and destroyed several smaller civs in a huge world war against them & the Aztecs (and since I was trying a 5CC, I didn't exactly have the military to stop them easily). A very strange game, to say the least.

Persia-that fool Xerxes always declares war on me with absolutley no reason, there have been times when he doesn't even send out his army after declaring war on me

Zulu-Mostly because they always get a very huge territory and the most annoying thing they do-they build cities in totally absurd places(there is one free tile beteween me and and my closest neighbour and he puts his city there) he usually loses his city with max 10 turns(they start rebeling and join with me or some1 else with higher culture)

The Aztecs and the Mayas . Arrararrgh.

I totally agree. Add the Incas in there too. I guess it's some sort of Central/South American conspiracy against me....
