I prefer Epic game better. I just like leading my people from beginning to end. Since I have bought conquests I still have yet to do the conquests. It just doesnt interest me as much as Epic. I havent tried doing a scenarios in the customazation section of the site. Maybe, I should get into them.

i used to think like you as regards the scenarios, but about a month after i got C3 i wanted to play a quick game a decided to try a scenario instead of a tiny map. i picked the middle ages scenario and really got into it. new units, city improvements, techs, civilizations and artowork really sparked my interest.

since that time i've played all the conquests and must admit that I like some as much as the epic game, specifically middle ages, napoleonic europe, and rise of rome. admitedly some are not that great, but I'm glad I took the time to try them all out.

You will enjoy the Scenarios very much if you like the Epic. :D
I agree that the Middle Ages and Nap are great. I also like
the WWII-good practice at modern warfare and naval uses. :tank: You will:love: the Beserks in the Middle Ages!:viking:
Epic is good for controlling things from the beginning. :king:

I prefer the Epic game, but the Conquests are fun, too. It's neat to see the different units/tech trees/wonders/victory conditions/rules that the various Conquests have. But in the end, like yourself, I enjoy taking my civ from a single settler to a vast empire more than I enjoy the narrower scope of the Conquests.

I bought Conquests for the scenarios, but after playing each of them I've gone back to playing Epic about 80% of the time. I really like the exploration phase of the game, and after you've played every available civ, you know exactly what the map looks like and where all the resources are, so it's lost some of its excitement.

I'd like an option to play, say, Mesopotamia rules on a random map. Or Sengoku. I love the new tech trees and units, but large/huge maps are too time-consuming, on top of the been-there sensation I mentioned above.

I usually try a COnquest after every Epic game, becuase Going from a massive Industiral/Modern Age EMpire to a very small town is kinda wierd. So I try one of the conquests, then go back to epic.

So, I like Epic better, just not in a row.

I like them both. Epic games are fun for their randomness. Scenarios are fun, as it is gret to conquer different areas of the world.

I find the Epic game a crashing bore. Give me more scenarios!

it depends on my mood :)

but there are certain mods/scenarios here at CFC that I think are better then the epic game like DYP, which is actually more "epic" and covers more of human civilization then the epic game

I mostly play "the Mediterranean Mod"

European Map

Up to 31 ancient European civs
new tech tree
new units
New wonders
new resources

Great fun

I both like them: I bought C3C for the nice conquests, Ive played and won 7 of them (I hate MEsoamerica and Sengoku!)
Now Im returning to epic games...
But I say conquests have their own great mood, so I voted on that.

Conquests are fun, but nothing beats a good epic game.

I'm not saying I don't like epics, I love them. But I like the scenerios cause they are even more specail of modified! :p

Both epics and scenarios are fun, but I know the perfect combination. Look for TETurkhan's test of time. If you have gold edition, it's in the scenario folder. If not, well then, look for it. TOT is especially good if you have a fast computer.

I haven't really gotten into any of the Conquests yet, so I'd have to say I like epic best. I'm thinking about starting the Conquests, though.

I like scenarios for short games and as a test of skill ( wich i do well in)
(should some screenshots of some scenarios ending screenshots)
But in Epics you live to see if you are a slave or the master of all things living
