Don't think anyone's done this poll (sorry if they have)
So, which good leader do you think is the most likely to become evil? (because they're the most evil, the least good, you just don't trust them, however you want to think of it)
I think it'd be Bassium, actually, because of his one-track, black-and-white crusader mentality. Bhall, who was the greatest enemy of evil in the Age of Magic, fell too, so I don't think it's that far fetched.

Also, haven't gotten to Decius's scenarios yet, so I've got no idea what happens with him.

You forgot Arendel Phaedra of Ljosalfar.

I think that Decius is a no brainer, however I am surprised that Cardith Lorda made the list. Is it because of his more lizard-ly moments?

I voted for him. I'm assuming one day the pressure would get too much, he'd snap and kill everyone. :P

 "Cardith! Cardith! I need you to sign these papers..." "Cardith! The Nagas are going on strike!" "Cardith! Varn Gosam is here and he wants to speak to you about converting..."
Cardith Lorda, "... ...WROAR!" *fiery explosion*

I get the impression that Eurabatres (or Cardith Lorda, whatever you want to call him) is the least likely to be corrupted. But, of course, he's the most likely to tolerate Evil doings in his lands as long as they aren't disturbing the peace.

As leaders, Sabathiel and Capria are both morally quite pure--Sabathiel perhaps more than Capria, who has some human attachments which might bring her down. But both are very distinct from the Order hierarchy, which itself is quite prone to slipping into Evil.

Varn Gosam, despite his revelations, bears such affection for Talia that I think he might fall for love of her. Since Decius isn't really a "Good" leader (not purely, anyway), I think Varn Gosam is the most likely to fall.

Arendel Phaedra I can see retreating into her woods and becoming removed from the world's affairs, thereby becoming Neutral, but not Evil (unlike Amelanchier and Thessa, who have that possibility--but they are Neutral). But we know remarkably little about Arendel Phaedra's lore independent of her struggle with Faeryl Viconia. Of course, who knows what decades, centuries or millenia of imprisonment in a coffin could cause.

Beeri Bawl and Garrim Gyr, it's hard to say. Beeri Bawl seems pretty stalwartly Good, although I guess I could see him being tortured into Evil had he been a captive of the Balseraphs for much longer. Garrim Gyr we know too little about to judge.

Basium by definition is Good; I can't imagine him not fighting the forces of Evil, even if he does evil (by our standards) anyway.

Ethne seems very innocent. If she had her innocence shattered, she might turn. Einion is of course not at all innocent, and it is difficult to imagine something which turns him to Evil (as opposed to Neutral like Arendel).

Interesting poll results... I've always thought that Basium is by definition the LEAST likely to fall. He might have alot of hate and anger, but if you read the intro to The Lord of the Balors when playing as him, it's all directed towards the demons. I just can't see him siding with the evil he hates so much. He does actually seem concerned about the salvation of the world too. Of course, he might not go around doing it in a clean and collateral damage free manner, but Good nonetheless.

I'm going to assume Decius to be of the Malakim, and say in that case he's one of the most unlikely to fall, having already had one chance and denied it. Basium is a force of nature more than anything; he's as harmless as a puppy, until he smells demons. Sabathiel is very unlikely to fall. He could have easily set himself up as a god-king on Erebus, but refused the chance because he didn't believe himself above the law, unlike totalitarian dictators everywhere. Capria may be a militaristic woman, but she's been through hell; if she was corruptible, it would have been there. Cardith Lorda is sometimes cold, rational, and scares his ministers, but I don't think abject evil is in him. Ethne would have probably been corrupted already if it was in her, having had a life of luxury. I dare not imagine how many times Einion Logos has been tempted by the dark side in his years, and he's resisted well. While Garrim Gyr, in his 'pedia, is described as overcoming the temptations of evil in his 'pedia, I can easily see Beeri Bawl (or, more specifically, a Luchiurp in general) giving in out of curiosity and finding himself following the Ashen Veil in an originally innocent quest for knowledge.

Sabathiel is the least likely to fall, but the priests who interpret his will (or, later on, make stuff up and claim it to be his will) are the most likely.

Capria is tried and true, and very unlikely to fall.

I can't really see either major Elohim leader falling.

After playing Lord of the Balors Basium's fall seems less likely, but I still tend to think it could happen. I see can see him going to Camulos's hell when he dies, perhaps because of his militancy or perhaps even willingly in order to kill demons. After a long time in this hell in which he would vanquish many demons I expect him to do quite well but start to loose his reason. Everyone there is a demon, so after a long time it may be hard for him to remember that there are non-demons elsewhere, and so he may start to fight just for the sake of fighting. I could see him being so successful that he eventually manages to overthrow Camulos, but when that happens the weight of the evil god's precept would lay heavy on his soul and make him be very little different from the evil god he vanquished.

I don't think that Beeri is likely to fall at all, but there is a small chance that a desire for vengeance against Perpentach could lead to it. I think it is more likely that Garrim's arcane power leading him to the dark side. He resisted Mammon once, but he might not be so lucky the next time.

I'll say that the good minor leaders are the most likely to fall, since we don't really know anything about their character.

There is some interesting (as least pertinent to this conversation) writing in the pedia entry for the Theater building and the pedia entry for Hyborems Whisper. In one Dain is attempting to pull Ethne from her ideological views (from good to neutral, or from idealistic to a more realistic view of the world). In the other Hyborem is attempting to do the same, but by attacking the thought of morale decisions in its entirety.

There isn't any revelation given as to what Ethne decides to do, and its far from suggesting that Ethne becomes evil. But its kinda cool to see probably one of our best examples of "goodness" trying to get along in the morale quagmire that is Erebus.

Wow, that was one section that I hadn't scoured for lore yet, very interesting entries...
I still don't know what those events do though. I wonder if that situation will be portrayed in the Wages of Sin... can't wait for patch r!

I'm pretty sure those entries were just added. I'd have remembered them from earlier otherwise.

Despite all the votes for Basium, I can't really see him falling. Sure, he does alot of collateral damage, but I just can't picture him ever doing anything other than fighting demons.

Ethne. From what I've read about her (especially her dialogue with Dain in the Theater pedia entry), she seems a little bit too idealistic. And maybe, when her idealism will be shaken (it will be - idealism is usually wrong, especially in Dark worlds), she will turn Evil out of despair...

Not to mentoin the fact that she (like Einon) is coded to be a backstabber. Apparently, she isn't as a goody two shoes as she seems.

collateral damage is collateral damage. at what point do the lives of all the good people he sacrifices outweigh the efforts he makes against the demons? of all the good leaders, he is the one I would want least at my side.

As I've said before, the thing about Basium is that he's more like a force of nature than a reasonable being. He's never been cruel about what he does; he kills Ashen Veil followers without flinching, but it isn't malicious just... what he does. A soldier under his command who, say, attempted rape would be executed on the spot for corruption and have his soul stuck in Basium's club to keep it from going to Hell as a demon. He does a lot of killing, and has a real "let the One sort 'em out" attitude that would make me damn sure I stayed far away from him, but aside from that minor detail, he's pretty lacking in evil, if only to keep his soldiers pure so they become angels.

Yes, but upon his death it would not surprise me if he ended up in Camulous' hell, not Arawn's
