I'll give out awards:

Best Design (gameplay-wise): Shoshone (good starter civ, very open in where you go)
Most Erratic Design: Indonesia (uniques that contradict each other, a true pro civ)
Best AI Powerhouse: Assyria (could snowball easily?) or Poland (straight buffs, not complex to use)
Overall Solid Civ: Morocco (good flavour, solid bonuses, spread over time )

Special mention goes to Venice who seems to be bad in the hands of the AI, both restricted and powerful (double traderoutes) for human players and very lacking in imagination (names of the unique units...). It gets the "What the...! I want the stuff you're smoking"-award.

1-Brazil:My favorite civ, South America needed to be represented by a modern civ. I still hope to see the Great Colombia and Argentina in the future, it would be great to see: Brazil vs Argentina
2-Indonesia:I love Asian civ, would be very interesting to see Indonesia vs India. Indonesia is a large civ
3-Portugal:With the inclusion of Brazil would be great to see: Portugal vs Brazil. Portugal is a grand naval civ, see intrigues between Portugal and Spain by land in the game is also very good
4-Morocco:I liked the Moroccan desert is always a mystery
5-Poland:I really like medieval civs
6-Assyria:Ancient civilizations are interesting at the beginning, Assyria vs Egypt would be great
7-The Zulu:I like Zulu, but would like to see other civs African: Nigeria, Congo, South Africa
8-Venice:Between Italy and Venice, I would choose Italy. I liked Venice, but think it Italy would be better, Italy is more complete
9-The Shoshone:I did not like Shoshone. If you were to choose a native, the Olmec would be much better. Besides Vietnam, Hittites, Tibet would be much better to replace the Shoshone.

Poland!!! A civ seemingly purpose built to my likings!!! And for the third time ever it's one I actually care about (Aztecs, old France)!!!

In order of preference:

Assyrians
Venetians
Moroccans
Portuguese
Shoshone
Indonesians
Polish
Zulu
Brazilians

I put the Brazilians last because they're too highly tied to an aspect of the game that I'm not familiar with enough yet.

My view of them will probably change after I play the game.

Nice to see that Zulu at least has got 1 vote now. Like almost everybody else here, I love to have them in Civ, but then mostly as a strong and expansive opponent.

The final verdict is Brazil. It's always been Brazil, and now since the whole 9 have been announced, it still is.

Order of Interest:
Brazil
Assyria
Portugal
Indonesia
Shoshone
Morocco
Poland
Zulu
Venice

It used to be Poland, but now it's Venice. Let the others fight over land while I get rich.

At this point?... Still Morocco

I've already replied, but since we're doing rankings...

Based on how excited I am to play as each Civ, rather than how 'good' I think the design is or whether I think the Civ in question is 'deserving' of Civ status:

1. Morocco
2. Venice
3. Indonesia
4. Portugal
5. The Shoshone
6. Assyria
7. Poland
8. Brazil
9. The Zulu

I'm pretty excited about all of them. The low placement of the Zulu is merely because I'm not much of a warmonger.

Brazil, for its play style(tourism and culture) and for being the only modern South American civ.
Second is Poland, for its color theme(just awesome) and UA.
Then Potugal e Morroco, for trade route bonus.

1. Brazil
2. Poland
3. Portugal
4. Morocco
5. Venice
6. The Shoshone
7. Assyria
8. The Zulu
9. Indonesia

I was expecting more new civs with some sort of bonus to tourism besides Brazil :(

Order of preference:

1) Morocco - Kasbah + Petra = Super Capital
2) Portugal - Never have to worry about happiness or gold according to an interview.
3) Venice - Double trade routes? Sounds interesting. Though, only being able to puppet cities sounds bland.
4) Indonesia - Kris Swordsman sounds fun.
5) Brazil - May finally be able to make jungles decent production places.
6) Shoshone - Would've preferred the Cherokee. Though, it seems to be good at exploration.
7) Poland - Wish it's UU/UB worked better with the ability.
8) Assyria - Babylon + Huns = Assyria. Just doesn't seem that good.
9) Zulu - Great... Another warmonger...

Order of preference:

1) Morocco - Kasbah + Petra = Super Capital

I thought Petra was going to be changed due to it being too similar to the Kasbah?

My (likely) play order:

1. Poland
2. Morocco
3. Portugal
4. Indonesia
5. Assyria
6. Brazil
7. Shoshone
8. Venice
9. Zulu

Although once I see the other civs in action I might change my mind.

I voted for venice (though I had to very carefully weigh them against Portugal). They're the quintessence of my playstyle.

I'm pleasantly surprised to see so many people voting in favor of Venice despite all the vocal naysayers.

Play order:

1.Venice
2.Portugal
3.Morocco
4.Brazil
5.Poland
6.Shoshone
7.Assyria
8.Zulu
9.Indonesia

Honestly, I'll probably never play the last three.

While I was upset at the lack of Italy again, I think I'm ok with the choice to have Venice. They seem super fun. Dat :c5gold::c5gold::c5gold::c5gold::c5gold: and :c5puppet::c5puppet::c5puppet::c5puppet:.

Order:
1. Venice
2. Morocco
3. Portugal
4. Brazil
5. Shoshone
6. Assyria
7. Indonesia
8. Poland
9. Zulu

First playthrough will be with the Shoshone. Not focused on any particular VC, strong-but-not-OP abilities, will let me get a feel for new mechanics without any particular bonus for any of them, and Scout UU! (My favorite unit:D)

Most excited for Venice (double trade routes is crazy powerful, they could have a Hello Kitty GDR UU and I wouldn't care) so I voted for them. :)

I'm actually honestly surprised Venice is the clear-cut front-runner. I would have thought that a UA with limiting features would be in the middle of the pack. I wonder how of it has to do with the newness
