Yeah if it werent about graphics I'm betting Age of Empires 2 wouldve been mentioned all over this thing.

Age of Empires II has gorgeous graphics, but I wouldn't say they are the best available.

I like the AoK graphics. It's just not realistic, but best doesn't have to mean most realistic.

AoK is also lots of fun, partly because it's so wacky.
