Unfortuntely i have to sell my desktop and get a notebook computer because i will be on the move for the next year or so. I will choose the notebook based on many factors but a big one of course is that it must be able to play civ4 without any huge problems. Ive been reading this forum and it seems like some people are having major issues getting the game to run on certain graphic cards or systems.

So if you got a notebook and it runs civ4 good please reply back here with your model, cpu and graphic card if possible. It would really help me out to narrow down my decision to "civ4 compatible" laptops..

At the moment im looking at an Athlon Turion with ATI mobility graphics card but i see a few threads that are having problems with civ 4 on this system. Hmm...

I have the dell (yes I know how horrible Dell is :p ) inspirion 6000, with 2.00 GHz Pentium M, 1 GB of Ram, and an ATI Mobility Radeon X300, so although that is not in the catagory that you are looking for, this is a system that allows me to play civ4 at max settings (though no anti-alaising), with not too much in the way of a slowdown, and on the low graphics setting works very fast. :)

I'll tell you the same thing I tell every person who wants to play a game....The bigger the better. Fastest CPU, most RAM, HD, etc that you can get. Why? You won't have to upgrade it in a year or so. Laptops aren't cheap, so if you buy overkill now, you won't have to scramble for upgrade parts later. ;)
