White Hand

The Priests of Winter are named Dumannios, Riuros, and Anagantios.

They are all named for months of the Celtic Calender. Apparently Dumannios means "Darkest Depths," Riuros means "Cold Time," and Anagantios means "Stay home time."

The order in which I listed them is the order in which they occurred, but how exactly they correspond to our calender is not quite so clear. Different websites say they correspond to different months in our calender, which probably means they are using different reference years. These are lunar months, so they do not stay aligned to a solar calendar without intercalcation.

The month before Dumannios was called Samonios, which in modern Irish is called Samhain. Some sources claim that Samanios started on the winter solstice, but most associate it with October 31st. Considering the meaning of Dumannios that makes more sense, as the darkest depths of the year would be the period immediately prior to the Winter Solstice. I'll thus claim that Dumannios starts about a week before the month of November ends, but for practical purposes we might as well call Dumannios December, Riuros January, and Anagantios February.

MagistarCultuum,

Thanks for the reply, I needed the names to fill in some missing lore of the Illians for the Master of Mana mod.
