Who here plays civ games on there laptops

I play cIV on my ASUS X51L. It has a decent graphics card which can run cIV on low details quite good, but i'm not positive ciV will start, not to say to play what so ever on it. :(

Don't be sorry. It's not like it was in the title or anything...

Assuming there is a mac version at some point, I'll try to run it on whichever mac laptop I have at that time.
@ bio_hazzard: Hey ... long time no (see?, hear?, or what?). Have not seen you in the GOTM forum for ages (or am I just going [blind, deaf, or what?]).

I play Civ4 on an HP 9000 laptop ... video card has 256 MB dedicated, which seems to be a lower limit to avoid frequent crashes. I am guessing Civ 5 would send me to the store for something better (will Microsoft have a workable OS by then?)

civ 4 on a 4 yr old laptop. I can no longer play large map or advance to modern age. :( Guess I'll need to buy a new PC.

Heh, I've been playing on my HP Mini netbook while my desktop gets repaired. Civ3 and Civ4 squeak by at about 15 fps, barely playable. I don't think it will be able to handle 5, but by then I'll definitely have my desktop back.

wow- I'm amazed I was even missed over there at GOTM, given how terrible I am at this game! I haven't played much civ over the past couple of years. Kind of on a roguelike kick now- a little easier to pick up and put down during my commute or while watching something dumb on TV. I did just buy myself Mac BtS, so maybe I'll end up over at a BOTM one of these days. Is there still a low-score trophy?

I've got to admit I like all the buzz and hype of the new release!:D

i play on my dell latitude D630... civ4 runs good enough on it, so i hope civ5 isn't going to require more juice than civ4 or is at least scalable to run on lower end hardware...

crossing my fingers that it will work on my laptop, civ IV runs without a hitch (if not slightly slow sometimes) with a few mods. I really don't want to buy a new system, and am not enough of a computer guy to know if I can upgrade the laptop, it's a year old compaq of some sort, lol.

I play C3C on my laptop. I will buy a new one before ciV comes out (this lappy is crappy!)

Can anyone dare fo guess what laptop under $500 would be able to run civV?
I only got best buy card for 700 and i don't want to max out. And don't say gateway, I burned one down playing this game:D

get a laptop with a HD4650 graphic card ... it's by far the best bang for the buck !
you'll find one around 600-700$

I've been playing Civ IV on the same laptop since it came out. This system has 64 MB dedicated Video RAM (128 MB max shared). After the latest Civ IV BTS patch I now get a message saying my system doesn't meet the minimum system requirements, but the game runs just fine with the graphics turned all they way down and single unit graphics. I really hope the keep the requirements for Civ V low, after all this is a strategy game and things looking super realistic isn't very important to the overall fun factor of the game. While I do enjoy playing Civ IV on my desktop from time to time my Laptop is where I play the vast majority of the time. As long as my system can handle it I will be buying it as soon as it comes out.

Also I would really like to see Civ V run without the disc, I've never understood why software manufacturers require discs to play with how easy it is to copy a disc or download the software and burn a playable disc if I were inclined to do that.

I hope there is a 64-Bit version of Civ for I can use 16-64GB RAM
