I was just wondering if many people use this feature or not. When I'm really into a game, I do. When I'm just going through the motions, I don't. I tend to have more fun when I actually take the time to name everything.
For example: I start with a warrior, and my first city is near some cows and a stone quarry (on a hill, let's say). I might name the city "Stone-Hill" in the language of the Civ I'm playing, and give my warrior a name like "Bull". As he moves around finding goody huts and getting gold, techs, smacking around animals, or getting promotions "Bull" will then become "Bull the Plunderer", "Bull the Wise (or Learned)", "Bull the Fierce", or "Bull the Healer" accordingly.
I don't know. It kind of makes the game more fun for me. That way, when I send him to sack a city years hence, and he dies, I feel a real sense of loss.
"NOOOOO!!! Not BULL!!! Why if it weren't for Bull the Wise, we'd still be researching Sailing!!! It was indeed Bull the Wise who safely escorted Swift Eagle (a Scout) back within our borders when he was near certain death after the Bear attack of 3240 BC!!Let us weep, Citizens, at the tragic folly of war!!!"
Anybody else??
