Who misses Civ 2's videos?

just my personal preference really, non-AP play already bogs down my speed so i hate to think of AP with movies.

except civ2 moves 100 times faster than civ3 the movies didnt slow things down at all but the council was worthless

The videos in Civ2 and SMAC fall under the 'cool at first' category, but play it enough times, you know what they are and they become boring.

The civ2 council is funny, but a very limited set of phrases made them nearly worthless.

They weren't even very good the first time you saw 'em. Can't say I miss them.

I loved the council. They were hilarious. But, I think it's more of a production cost issue which is why they weren't in Civ3. Gotta pay for the actors and equipment (and probably renting a studio, or some background prop). It was done when all of the hype was about multimedia movies (Electronic encylopedias often had a bunch of movies on different topics).

They were funny when they were annoyed at you. They just shouted at you and then refused to speak to you, like sulky children.

DBear's right - the advisor telling me about Writing was very annoying, especially the 20th time.....

Either way, your post added nothing to the thread, whereas everyone else has managed + a fair amount of votes.

Ummm, to see = bad? Brush up your latin . I liked the videos. I wish the still had them. I never got bored with em, then again, I have a short attention span lol :rollin
