Well if you read the Illiad, Agammemnon comes from Mycenae and so the head king of the expedition was Mycenaean but still the text refers to thewhole expedition as Achaeans. Mycenaean is just a term to refer to all people in the Greek mainland during the Bronze age. It is also called the Hellenic civilization. There were 3 main bronze age civilizations in Greece. The Minoan on crete, the Mycenaean or Hellenic on the Greek mainland and Cycladic in the islands of the ionian sea.

Ionians come from Eastern turkey and the Doric comes from north of Greece and they came in the interm period between the Bronze age and iron age after the Mycenaean civilazation collapsed
