Which of my Mac Bros are getting ready to install the new OS? I for one love the fact it's coming from the app store.

IS IT? Me me oh yes me! I loved it when Snow Leopard came out and having it on the app store will make it even more simple/easy!

I'll wait until Lion gets reviewed just to make sure it isn't a downgrade

Do we know how much it's going to cost?

I wish I was rich enough to get a Mac  But then again, I wouldn't be able to play most of my games (as they are older) :(

You can use Crossover or even install a Windows partition

Games like CivIII, RoN, AoEIII and much more.

Where can you find these? My Dad has a Mac and I think he'll like to know as he wants to play some older games on his as well :)

Windows is better for older games (he can install XP, Vista or 7)

$29.99 OS X Lion
$49.99 Server add on

...so actually affordable! Snow Leopard was like...£70 if I remember correctly which is like $140!

Actually it's more like $100 or $110 ;)

Oh, Windows has a new update. How much is it? Oh yea, free!

Pffft, damn the pound!

Meh. I can get Windows 7 for free from the university, so I've been using Windows 7 on my Macbook ever since support was discontinued for OSX 10.4. Didn't feel like paying $160 just to keep getting security patches.

:goodjob:

I'm in a similar situation with my work laptop, except I'm running Ubuntu instead of Mac OS.

uh why not buy Snow Leopard for $25?

Because the $30 upgrade to OSX 10.6 only upgrades from 10.5. My computer came with 10.4, which means I'd have to buy the 10.5 upgrade ($130 last time I checked), or I'd have to buy the 10.6 non-upgrade version ($170 last time I checked).

Actually it will upgrade from Tiger to Snow Leopard. It will only upgrade the OS, not iLife though
