Why can't we make the maps bigger than 10000squares (75x120 is the biggest given)?

Why can't I go over 75x120, or 10000 blocks if I customize the map? I want to make a map of the world, but I want each block to be about 1-2 degrees latitude/longtitude, for better accuracy when placing cities and land. Is there anyway to go higher than 75x120, perhaps 90x180, or even 180x360?
Thanks

That (unoffical) patch is called NO LIMITS patch. It can be downloaded at http://www.civfanatics.com/civ2utility.shtml

Be sure to backup your civ2.exe. You can't play multiplayer games if you use the civ2.exe included in the patch.

thanks Thunderfall, but it's a .zip file. For some dumb reason, my computer can't download .zip files. Is there anyway I can get it, in a different type of file?

WinZip is a must have program. You really can't live without it.

Other programs such as WinAce and WinRar are also good compression programs and can unzip Zip files too...
