I was playing Persia on a Pangea with a few other civs....5 maybe. And I start on an island away from the other civs. I get really after in tecs and so but I succed to build "the great library". After a while I see an Egypt boat and make connenction with all the civs and starts to trade tecs. Then something weird happend, I get "Our scienstists have learned...." (or something like that) 5-6 times in a row....Im like " :goodjob:". But it doesent stop, I enter a new era and get 4-5 new tecs on that era and get past the other ones in techs....on just 1 turn.

Oh well....its nothing negative, but I just want to know why this happend. :king:

The Great Library will give you a tech when it's known by two civs that you know. This lasts until the turn you discover Education. Now, it doesn't say up to Education, but until you learn Education. So it's quite possible to get enough techs to take you up to the next level.

In fact, there's a style where you build the GL, gift that city to an AI city, wait until you see arty or infantry running around, then mass attack that city to get the GL back, and get all those techs. While you're waiting for that to happen, you research up to Military Tradition, and build as many calvaries as you can. Use the calvaries to take over the city, and get the techs.
