Why don't we add the X-Seed 4000 as a wonder?

Should they add the X-Seed 4000 as a Wonder in a Future Patch?

We have Giant Death Robots, the Fountain of Youth and El Dorado, why not the X-Seed 4000?

For those who don't know the X-Seed 4000 is the largest building to have ever been fully designed:

Designed to house around 1,000,000 people and stand higher than Mount Fuji if it were ever to actually be built it would redefine the concept of being a "wonder". Why not just chuck it in there, I mean we have fantasy stuff like El Dorado and the Fountain of Youth, not to mention Giant Death Robots, considering that this is actually possible...

Allow it when the first Future tech is researched and... I don't know, it increase the population of a city by 5 and adds +10 Happiness or something stupid. So it massive increases the population of a city and reduces unhappiness elsewhere. I know that the game isn't exactly avoiding making overpowered hard to get or rare things like the above. Come on, just do it!

Here is a size comparison:

It's not the most insane solution. I mean, the early civ games had the Cure for Cancer as a wonder - nothing too wrong with throwing in a little bit of "future era" buildings or wonders.

I do not like the direction this game is taking.

Oh, I know!

We can have a new Victory condition...

The X-Seed 4000 Victory!

Makes about as much sense as the Spaceship or bribing 10-15 City States...

I'm not seeing how it would improve the game. Just seems like added fluff. Then again I rarely make it that far in any of my games so what do i know.

oh come on. be serious. they cant put the x seed 4000 in the game. it would take too many turns to produce. even with marble.

3 words: Large Hadron Collider

PS wow that x-seed 4000 is one crazy building concept - what's with the name though?

Japan...

Maybe they should bring back the wild animals from Civ IV. They can spawn Godzilla near Kyoto!

Nothing like the LHC though. We can't explain mass and gravity so we invent the Higgs Mechanism which in most versions predicts the Higgs boson. We can't find the Higgs Boson at the size we predicted, and so we now know it's even bigger than we thought! Ah... good ol' modern Physics!

Eh, why not? The Space Elevator was in the last game and, last time I checked, the Space Elevator doesn't exist. It's not like Civ V is breaking new ground with adding in things that don't exist.

Considering how disappointing the future era was (obviously the game was released far too early, at least a year or two) it would be nice to see more stuff like this.

Keep it optional so that people that don't want futuristic stuff can not have it in their games.

Personally, I thought this was one of the funnest parts of the Call to Power series. Some really cool futuristic stuff I recall.

Exceed 4000 meters, I guess?

That would be an amazing building, it's like my SF deams are becoming true! :)

I would'nt have a barbeque at the top-level though...32 guests came to the party, only 4 left by the elevators, the rest were just blown away.

Where's the hate bro..?

Someone didn't even finish the first sentence of the OP before replying. ;)

I've never heard of this building, looks cool though. And yeah, why not add it? No more game-breaking than any other futuristic wonder. What would the tech prereqs and the benefits be, though? Just a boost to pop in that city and +happy in all other cities? Maybe instead of a flat happy bonus, some kind of decrease in unhappiness due to population, since we can just move a million or so citizens into this man-made mountain.

I would make the benefit this:
-0.5 population in all opponent's cities, and +.05 in this city for each opponent city.

psh, a huge building has no place alongside a huge terror-inducing robotic monstrosity that kills things.

I have no problem with them putting in some futuristic stuff at the very end of the tree (Space Elevator, Cure for Cancer, Arcologies) but I don't think the X-Seed 4000 in particular warrants inclusion.

How about some realistic future wonders?

Spaceships? Are you serious, have you seen world budgets lately? The first one with a spaceship is going to be Bronson because no government is going to give money to that. NASA just got a nice slap on the wrist and even they don't have spaceships. And why should they? It so much easier to just blow up this planet rather than find a way to go blow up some other planet.

The Space Elevator is stupid and not cost effective and would be ripped to shreds by our planet, its atmosphere, and any foreign object from space that happened to be in its path.

The Cure for Cancer / longevity will be blocked by the government because they need people to die, we have too many. They already have the cure for cancer and aids you dolts.

The X-Seed 4000 is only a concept and will die like 99.9% of building concepts. Some Architect thought it up to market their business and look how well it worked, it even got internet-time on a Civ forum of all places. The cost and breadth of that job is utterly unobtainable and pointless.

Arcologies will actually probably be built since we have this great habit of completely and utterly annihilating our own planet and one day that is the only place we'll be able to live, so I will let those alone.

Giant Death Robots... well, I wish I could knock those off the list but the problem is China has a military and so do we, and so does Russia and India and all of those 13-year-old-boy-generals want the biggest killing toy out there, so inevitably someone will be running around with one of those one day as well.

If you want real wonders, just do a case study of our society. Things that would be a shoo-in:

The Social Networking Bureau

Electronics the size of a booger

Direct Internet access in your head

Screens on your eyes that stream porn

Seriously, all of these things are far more likely than the wonders they have.
