Why Labour are better than the Tories..

Chart the time in power between the two partys.. labour barely gets a sniff really.

Blair adds rules for fun... simple example, my house is currently being turned upside down - every wall has to be skimmed with fireproofing, every door replaced with fire proof doors, every room fitted with an alarm radio linked to the others... this is all LAW now, sure it makes things safer.. but the benefits Vs. the cost?

Blair believes labour knows best, and if you disagree you must be miseducated, we will teach you better. Immigrants now have to pass a test of "britishness" now.. i mean WTH? basically a "repeat after me; Tony is good"

Labour have only existed since 1900.

I don't like Blair at all, but we all know what the Tories think of immigrants, I aibn't forgetting the last election campaign that quickly.

"Labour aren't so bad, they're better than this really bad party".

I just find the idea of comparing crap with crap rather amusing ... or rather sad, given that that's how UK politics is for the most part.

Labour have been good for:
* Better rights for homosexuality.
* Economy has been good true - but we can't be sure how much that is due to them, as opposed to other factors. Also we've had the hyper house inflation.

I'm not sure that a justified war counts as a good point - is there reason to believe they handled it better than the Conservatives would? Did the Conservatives oppose them in any way here?

That would be huge investment in education, except for the small point of removing grants and introducing tuition fees right?

I'm not fan of Conservatives though - they have opposed many of Labour's authoritarian schemes, though we can't be sure that they wouldn't do similar things in power. They also seem to want to get rid of the Human Rights Act, one of the few things that can protect people's rights against new draconian laws.

Nope, I vote for that other party now.

I've noticed that doubletalk too. The've opposed restrictions on civil liberties whilst at the same time wanting rid of the Human Rights Act, which merely incorporates the Law from the ECHR. I understand they want replace it with a Bill of Rights which would 'allow us to better fight the war on terror'. Presumably by restricting civil liberties :confused:
