Sorry, if this was discussed somewhere, but i did not see it.

I just wonder, why there seems to be no further news about new DLC or expansion or ... anything. There is not even something like this: "Hey Guys, there are great news in the line soon. We can't talk about it now, but stay tuned, we will inform you in a around month."

Just wonder. Why they do such a ... uhm ... such "No PR" for Civ5? Is Civ5 allready dead? Steam still shows good statistics - good for a TBS. So, what's going on?

They cared more about Facebookciv at first and now X-Com, and when that get's released I suspect they'd rather make an expansion for that or work on a new project then make an expansion pack for a 3 year old game.
Kinda sad but the dev's give the impression they gave up on CiV, be it due to exhaustion from negativity in the fanbase, predicted cost-efficiency or just an unbridled hatred for fans of the series, I would turn your hopes to the modding community, when they finally get access to the DLL.

Are you serious you just realized this know?

I had a feeling they where going to give up on civ when they started with the DLC idea.

Every company does that if they aren't going to produce a new part of it milk as much money as you can.

...didn't we just hear from 2KGreg around the time of the last patch a couple months back that something was on the horizon?

I think that was X-Com they where talking about, and with the last patch do you mean the december patch?

The developers said in November that they would release the DLL code in Spring-Summer of 2012. They also stated that ''their work on Civ5 was far from being done'' or something like that.

...But you know, no one here knows if they have given up with Civ5 or they have been developing something huge. If would be nice if they could tell us at least if they have something in mind to improve the game.

I have a hard time believing they are done with Civ V. There is too much money to be paid on this game still. I think they got all they can out of the simple DLC additions, so now they're working on a larger expansion pack that will have some gameplay changes. There is still a lot that can be done with the game. I imagine they'll release something larger in the summer, but won't announce it until spring.

Yeah, in December (when the last patch launched) he said that they were still working on Pitboss/the DLL code, and teased another big announcement in the coming months, so I truly doubt they're done with Civ V. Besides, as mentioned, it certainly sold well and still has a lot of people playing it according to the Steam numbers.
However, I still have to say that I'm disappointed with the lack of communication. 2K Greg only seems to appear when there's a patch on the way. Other than that, he's completely MIA. Hell, the official website isn't even up to date (links to ridiculously old forum posts? Still got the Viking background even though Korea/WotW came out, which was never mentioned on the website at all? New patch not even listed as news on the front page?). 2K could do a lot more to at least keep people informed of what's going on/what has happened recently. Then there would be fewer forum posts like this.
