Why use FotL? (If your not elves)

Yvain on the other hand spends his free time chasing nymphs

hahaha, the visual on that is hilarious - a tree stump with eyes pursuing lovely ladies. Somehow Yvain (the model in FFH anyway) reminds me of a Major League Baseball mascot or something. ;)

Go Phillies!!!:woohoo:

Isn't the new Yvain model from World of Warcraft? (haven't seen him in game, but based on the screenshots)

And yes, put me on the bandwagon that likes FOL even if not an elf... saves a lot of time in the expansion phase since all you need to do is plop down a city and the city is basically auto-terraformed for you over a couple turns. Not to mention that you get food and production out of all your tiles. You may get 1 less production out of your hills but you make up for it from the production you get out of all your food tiles. (I think, I've been doing empy lately so can't 100% remember).

You're really only short commerce but you can always chop to put some of those down.

Hiphopin, have you looked up the Guardian of Nature Civic? Give it a looksie. [...]

This discussion should probably belong to the strategy forum. Anyways, yeah nice analysis but such a growth boost you get thanks to Guardian of Nature is not balanced by your economy. Growth = higher upkeep costs and Guardian of Nature has High costs, which is bad in my book. You will be forced to build many cottages, which I don't like because your production will be even more penalized (it already is by the ancient forests). One of the most difficult aspects of FFH compared to Vanilla civ is whipping up your production and Guardian of Nature doesn't help with this UNLESS you are playing the elves.
