Wierd problem with Darwinia.

I just bought this game from my semi-local Gamestop. Pretty cheap, too.

Well, I just installed it and ran into a problem. My CPU can easily handle the system requirements (it doesn't ask for much), but it is laggy to the extreme. When you boot it up, if you go to the options, they give you the FPS.

Well, mine was at about 2.

I don't understand. If my computer can handle this game's requirements, why is it so damn laggy? Has anyone else experienced this problem?

EDIT:
Um, I think every time I start it up, it maxes out my CPU usage for the same reason. I CTRL-ALT-DLT'd to check my history, and when the game booted up, it made my CPU usage skyrocket.

I can't figure out how to solve it.

Hmm, can't help you i am afriad. But Kudos for trying such a cool unmarketed game

It's trippy.

I deleted a folder that had duplicates of the installation files, and all of a sudden, it doesn't lag anymore.

However, on my dad's computer, my little bro installed it, and it runs smoothly, but the computer is at around 100% CPU usage.

Oh well. At least the game works now.

And boy is it awesome.
