Will they release a fix for MP anytime soon?

Nice try, but not funny already, i think one day we'll see no MP at all in menu.

If you don't want wait you can go back to Civ 4. :D
Since last month it exists a revival of the old Gamespy-Lobby, which restores most of the functionality
III. What is done so far.
I estimate it is 81.2% completed.
1. Can chat.
2. Can host games, and others will see them.
3. Can play games.
4. Can't refresh games with refresh buttons or see any info about games updated. Relogin for that.

To reactivate the multiplayer functionality you must redirect some Gamespy IPs to a new server. A example host file can be found here.
Alternatively, you can use the modified Exes which will produce the same results.
V. Substitute hosts file in c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\, and go to multiplayer->internet.
Changelog to hosts file.
28.11.14: Added 3 new lines with correct natneg server name for vanilla version

Cheers!

I would like to think that with the Beyond Earth patch now released, Firaxis can free up resources to fix this. With the thought that they may have fixed the problem, maybe this week sometime...maybe?!

Looks like there are changes in the Civ's file depot this morning, possibly meaning they are testing changes to a dev copy of Civ. This is the first action noted in steamDB in 19 days.

My super duper special wish is that mods finally become compatible in mp officialy.

Buuut I guess I have to set my hopes at a somewhat functioning mp instead...

It's possible to play MP without the resyncs if you turn off CS and Barbs. It's something to do with the AI in those elements that's causing the crashes. The games not as good but satisfies an itch while we wait for the fix.

No. It. Doesn't. Work.

Until Firaxis comes out and says it's fixed or at least reduced to something tolerable, there is nothing to comment on.

It is definitely tied to something in the October patch.

I posted instructions to go back to the former patch on thread "Civ V BNW -- new patch (notes) (mainly MP)" under category "Civilization V" -> "Civ5 - Multiplayer" if anyone is interested. I already played games with my friend with AI and city states without any resynch problems.

Came here to post that. Soon, my comrades... sooon.

I would not have high hopes. First that news did not have any new information. It was like a sticker "we will fix this soon" without any specific information. I doubt they take this seriously since they call it a hotfix despite MP is complitely unplayable lagland.
