Windowed or Full Screen?

As my computer is behind in performance, I'm trying to tweak this game's settings so that my FPS is as high as possible, and that led me to this question: should I run it in windowed or full screen? I tried searching the internet but couldn't find a site that wrote which was better (or if it doesn't make a difference). So - which one is best?

Really the only reason to ever run in windowed mode is if it's a game where you want or need to do other stuff while playing, like a MMORPG. I've never bothered testing or anything, but it always feels to me like performance suffers somewhat in windowed mode.

GA - Can your program display the FPS? If it does, run the game in both modes for a while, and see what kind of results you get.

Yeah, I have it writing the FPS in the corner of the screen when it's open, but it fluctuates a lot. I've tried it out now and I haven't noticed much difference.

Download Fraps and run some benchmarks if you really want to know.

I haven't run any games in windowed mode for years, but I know about 3-4 years ago it was a huge drain to run something in a window compared to full screen. I expect its still the same though.
