Is it possible to run a compatibility mode on a Windows 7 laptop in order to run older games?

In addition to the above, if Compatibility Mode alone isn't enough, Windows 7 Professional includes a fully-licensed Windows XP virtual machine (XP Mode) that will be able to run non-graphically-intensive games (think 2001 or prior, in general, and not shooters or other games where the mouse controls the direction). If you have really old games, they may not be compatible at all with Windows 7 (64-bit), but they may well still work in XP Mode.

One other issue you may run into is games that run too fast on newer computers, or crash entirely on computers with too fast of a processor. This is documented in this CFC thread. The CPUGrab utility mentioned will do the trick of effectively slowing down your processor enough to play these games - although you'll have to find it elsewhere, as Yahoo! took down GeoCities last October. It's more elegant and power-friendly to underclock your CPU, but I'm not current on what tools work properly for underclocking the latest laptop CPUs.

Ive got it and can upload if needed.
