When participating in an event or playing in a game (video game or real life), how do you react when you lose? What if you win? Are you a good or bad sport about it?

i blame it on outside forces, controler didn't work game messed it up. real life bad dice, say the other person cheats.

when i win I brag about it for days and make the loser feel worthless.

It depends how much emotion or practice I put into the game. If I'm really "into" it, I feel a great sense of accomplishment for winning, and heartbreakingly bitter when I lose.

If I don't really care...well...I don't really care.

Remember "Winning isn't everything, it's the only thing"
and If you are a good loser, then you are just that, a loser.

I don't lose well, but I am a very humble winner.

It depends on what the stakes are. If I lose something important, I'll be upset for a bit and probably find a perfectly good reason why I lost but I won't throw a fit like some people do. I don't gloat or brag when I win unless the opponent really deserves to feel like a loser.

I'd consider myself a good sport, although if it gets to becoming a run of 'near misses', frustration begins to emerge.

I take both well, when I was at primary school though, I wasn't a very good loser though. I didn't like that about myself so i changed it.

When i win, i don't rub it in, and when I lose, I happily congratulate my opponent(s).

I gloat if i win, i yell if i lose.

or i quit right before i lose

Whenever I loose, I react by reflecting back to the exact cause of the loss, so as not to make the same mistake again. If it's a substantial loss in poker or 21, I react by winning all my money back with intrest by the end of the game.

The one that baffles me is, while playing a video game, when you make it through a certain area with no problems the first try but if, for some reason, you reload to before that area, it takes several attempts to get through it again.

I tend to get over losing quickly... but still try to belittle my opponent in some way. "You're a poof" usually helps me deal with my own shortcomings.

I hate losing but play through it (baseball/soccer/bowling).

I love winning (baseball/soccer/bowling).

The best was the baseball one because I did fairly well (2-3 in the last game).

Yes, classic.

"You beat me so you must've cheated!"

Hey, this can count for certain elections as well...

No matter what sport/game I'm playing I dislike losing becuase it is somewhat negative, however you generally will never become better without finding someone to lose to :) If I ever get so good I beat everyone I play I would just move on and find some one harder, computer game gets to easy? I increase the difficulty, Run out of difficulty levels? find ways to make the AI cheat or something like that, I generally play online/in a group so there is always ALWAYS ways to improve.

I don't consider my life nor my own worth threatened because I'm not the first one in every single competition.
Like anyone, I prefer to win than to lose, but I won't make a crisis over a defeat.
I don't have an obsession of being a "winner". I just have the ambition of doing better than the last time.

It depends. Sometimes I loose and get all *****y about it, sometimes I win and it really doesn't matter that much. All depends on how I lost/won, what I did 'compete' in et cetera.

Never discount the value of a humiliating loss. It's how I improoved my game of Chess, Starcraft, Age of Empires, Counterstrike and many, many others ;)
