Sure, whatever.... just tell me how many UU's do I have now and how many I can build with one eco.point?

it'll be 100 per econ, Each UU is about 3 times the cost of it's normal counterpart.

Orders for Republic of Australia (unless I already sent orders and forgot)
- Grow economy
- Have all military units fortify their same positions

I'd like to hold off update for one day to try and get the last 4 people to send orders, especially since they concern some pretty needed stuff. (ESA and Japan mostly)

“BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRING”

“Alright everyone, that signals the end of our class for today. For homework I want you all to finish chapter 10 of “Japan: Then and Now” and write up a journal based on your response to the chapter. Don’t forget about your culminating project as well.”

Takomi Fujimoto was a middle school teacher in Tokyo. In terms of his position and career, he’s not really an unimportant person, but he shared the same pride as everyone else in being Japanese. If there was one thing about his job that he liked, it was the privilege to educate the new generations and let them know of their proud Japanese heritage. As he packed up his belongings, however, he noticed that two of the seats in the room were still occupied. He recognized them to be Moji and Nami, two of the more curious and brighter kids in the bunch.

“Did you two have something you want to talk to me about?” Takomi asked them with a smile.

Nami, the more outgoing of the two replied. “Yes, sensei. We saw on the news yesterday something about rockets from the Mediterranean country firing into the sky.”

“What about it?”

“They were saying on the news about how they’re the most advanced nation on earth.”

“Well, what they say isn’t necessarily the truth, is it?” Takomi replied with a wink.

At this point Moji finally spoke up as well. “But they launched that rocket! We don’t have any rockets in the sky.”

“Moji, we don’t have any rockets in the sky yet. Our emperor cares about the quality of how tasks are carried out, not the speed. Do you remember the video we watched about Japan compared to the western nations before the collapse happened?”

“Ya, we made really cool video games!” Moji replied enthusiastically.

“Yes Moji, we did” Takomi laughed a little. “But those were only one out of many other products where ours were superior. We have always been at the forefront of technology in the past, and we still are.”

“So this means we will have rockets of our own in the sky too?”

“Of course. And sooner than you think too.” Or so Takomi’s relative who worked in the government told him. It was concealed from the public, since it was still experimental and it wouldn’t do much good if the launch failed…

“See Nami, I told you what that reporter said was baloney!”

Takomi could hear the fading (and bickering) voices of the two as they left his room, and smiled to himself again before returning to the task he was doing.

Chinese War Draws to a Close!

The Chinese War has drawn to a close as Shanghai forces prove victorious. In the south, Shanghai was able to strike a deal with the Democratic Republic. In return for all land south of the Yangtze, the Democratic Republic would pay a large amount of reparation, equal to nearly 3 twice the yearly income of Shanghai. Not passing such an opportunity up for peace, and money, Shanghai pounced on it. Using this, the Republic of Shanghai greatly bolstered their military forces on land, sea and air.

Although lightly outnumbered, their training had put Shanghai on an equal playing field as their Communist invaders. Shanghai ships effectively blockaded the Korean Sea and Bo Hai and thus cutting Communist ports off, even with moderate casualties from Communist submarines. The Shanghai air force then was able to effectively gain air superiority by being able to halt Communist air attacks on them, but losing most of their own to Communist interceptors. Shanghai ground forces drove hard. The break happened in spring around early May. Communist elements began to collapse and retreat. Under threat of invasion by Shanghai forces, Communist forces sued for peace. Under terms, the Communists were forced to pay an economy level to Shanghai, but no land wads needed in exchange. Although losing a lot of land, Shanghai has come out with the largest economy in Asia next to Japan.

Mongolia Conquers Lake Baikal

Mongolia has renewed it’s attack on the warlords around Lake Baikal. After several weeks of fighting around irkutsk, Mongolian forces broke through sweeping around the Lake with their massive armor. Mongolia now has complete control of one of the most valuable parts of the trans-Siberian railroad. The railroad stills functions going from Russia through Kazakhstan, then through warlord territory that tax shipments. Now it must pass through Mongolia before going through Communist China and finally onto Japan. The control has allowed Mongolian economy to grow.

Middle East

Abyssinian Problems Lessen

Over the last 6 months, Abyssinian forces have begun to eradicate the last of Ugandan forces in their nation. Abyssinian forces stomped out the last formal resistance in a town not far from the border with warlords. That has not stopped guerilla resistance though, along with terror campaigns launched by them. Already bombings have hit a Abyssinian barracks, and 3 synagogue killing 112 civilians total, along with 32 military personal. The Kenyans have been able to beat the Ugandans back on their front.

Meanwhile the problem of Somalia has been fixed as they are granted independence. The radical clergy who led the rebellion quickly take control of the new found nation and after just 6 weeks of interim government, a constitution is put into place. A theocratic control is put on the nation with a council of clergymen as the acting head. The Grand Mufti acts as the head of state and head of government with the ability to override any ruling unless the council votes a 2/3 majority to overrule him.

Israel a Powerhouse?

Yes, with the completion of the reconstruction project, Israel has possibly the largest economy in the word and has become an economic powerhouse. The reconstruction has also brought about a great increase in educational standards and have allowed Israel to near the levels of the ME and Japan. Israel is a rising star and it’s Arabic neighbors have opened their borders to allow trade, thus increasing their own economy and pulling back a lot of former aggression.

Africa

South African Aggression

South Africa continues to expand, this time to the Island of Madagascan. Capturing a large portion of the south has prompted the remains of the warlords to flock to join the new Madagascarian nation. Meanwhile the nations of Zambia and Angola continue to expand through peaceful means as more and more warlords fear they will be South Africa’s next target. Warlords have even joined with the isolationist nation of Kenya in hopes of surviving South Africa’s ever expanding influence.

Nigeria pushes

Nigeria continues to push against the warlords, however they have reached the congo jungle to the east, which has caused higher casualty rates than expected. Thankfully they new mortar system has not allowed enemy forces to get away scot clean. Meanwhile to the south, the nation of Congo has also been pushing against the congo warlords, perhaps they could use each others help.

Europe

Drive Towards Moscow

The NEF has gained the upper hand in the conflict as their air force gains unprecedented superiority. Russians try to scramble new planes into the air, but are unable to do so as they’re knocked down as quickly as they get to their air bases or even in transit. A double pronged push towards Moscow has begun as forces in Ukraine push northeast and forces in the Baltic push southeast. Russian land forces have been unable to halt the advance, but have delayed it beyond any of the commanders expectations as they begin to fight for the Rodina. Communiques have been intercepted numerous times coming out of Russia, trying to contact anyone available to help them against the NEF.

Tens of thousands of Russians have joined up in arms in name of the motherland and war time production has come into full swing as every worker seems to be working 3 shifts, sometimes at gunpoint, to get any thing and everything off the assembly line.

Americas

CSA Forces Solidify

For the first month of the year, things were very confusing indeed. The former president of the CSA, who under the agreement to form the USA would basically become head of the military, was giving contradicting orders to that of the president of the new USA, who under the constitution was still commander and chief. Although the new 5-star General wasn’t trying to sabotage the efforts of the USA he inadvertency did. However the military soon wised up and listened to their commander and chief.

The USA first launched it’s movements against the former capital of St Louis. Capturing it would certainly hurt the morale of the enemy forces. USA command has underestimated the amount of forces in the city, it was nearly double what they thought. About 40,000 troops were positioned to defend the city. Still, the USA forces outnumbered them almost 5-1. (Instead of th expected 10-1). US forces here were bogged down as they grew ever closer to urban areas. Former suburban sprawls soon became vicious fighting grounds. Grocery shops turned into supply depots, post offices into command posts and homes into battlegrounds. This allowed the 4 smaller pockets of resistance, each with perhaps 20,000 troops each to converge towards St. Louis. With US forces occupied elsewhere(see below), this was pretty easy. About 2 weeks into the urban conflict which began in late February(now mid-March), almost 80,000 CSA reinforcements poured into the battle. The numerical superiority that was once 5-1 wasn’t even 2-1 anymore. The battle over St. Louis would last another 2 months until early may when Texan forces broke through, allowing even more reinforcements to spill into the city. The US forces were forced to retreat.

As the battle for St. Louis raged, US forces were also in operation to clean up the northern pockets and contain the Texan one. US forces here were much more successful then in the south. The small pocket along Lake Michigan was cleaned up by Late February, just as forces assaulted St. Louis. The other pockets continued to fall throughout the next few months, especially as PSA forces moved east, taking out a couple pockets themselves. In Texas, the forces that were supposed to stop a breakout failed to do so, and in late April Texan forces linked up with the large pocket that held St. Louis and land to the west.

Still CSA forces have been able to solidify and offer a much larger challenge then they did just 6 months ago. Martial law has been declared, and military forces have taken control of the government. The loss of so much land has hurt the economy, but the completion of the infrastructure project has counter-balanced that.

Meanwhile, US Caribbean territories continue to become overrun as the 15,000 troops stationed become overstretched.

South American Markets Stagnate

South American Markets have stagnated over the last several months due to American investors taking money only of the continent. This has been a byproduct of the Second Great American War The more liberal economies of Peru and Argentina have benefitted as competition on the South American market decreases for their exports, Brazil and the SCA were able to pull through though their economies stagnated, but Columbia and Guinea felt the effects the heaviest and have turned into poor nations.

Spotlight!

Space Race!

It what may the next space race between the rising technological giants of the Mediterranean Empire and Japan has begun. Both nations share the best research facilities, best universities, largest literate populations, and highest amount of post-graduates in the world. Both nations had been working long hours and tirelessly to achieve the ability to send satellites into space. It was the Mediterranean Empire was the first to succeed. On March 4th, the Mediterranean Empire allowed news crews to present live video images of the take off of the rocket that would send their satellite into space. Although the live feed was only restricted to local stations ironically due to lack of satellite technology, the video would soon be received around the world as copies were shipped to television companies everywhere.

The video wouldn’t reach Japan until mid-April, but the Japanese had their own project to work on. Working harder than ever because of the Mediterranean success, the Japanese finished their project to send a satellite by late May. On May 26th, the Japanese launched their own satellite into space. The technological rivalry between these two scientific giants may begin to grow over the next few months, and some suspect a space race of sorts may begin either between these two, or even across the world as other powers attempt tp match these two successes.

DIPLOMACY

To Anyone
From Russia:

Aid us against the NEF please. If Russia falls who is to say you will not be next!?

From CSA
To PSA:

In return for peace, we will allow you control of all the land you have conquered. What say you?

RANDOM EVENTS:

Confidence rises in Abyssinia! The people love their king! Many speak of resurrecting the monarchy and disbanding the idea of a republic.

Tourism grows throughout the many islands of Australia, and have been netting in a lot of money. +1 extra spending point for next turn.

Thanks to being the first nation to launch something into space since the fall of the world federation and the cool news reports about it, the ME has gained confidence in their leader, and pride to their nation.(+1 confidence, +1 national loyalty)

In Japan, the launch of the rocket, along with excellent school teachers, has brought confidence in the leadership of Japan. Few people now have qualms with the non-representative system of government in place. (+1 confidence)

OOC:
Alright how many times must I explain this, if you sacrifice an economy level in anyway(minus the following exception) you can not spend your points that you get that turn. This counts for sacrificing for projects, military, technology, etc. The only time you’ll get to spend your points is if you’re giving an economy level to another nation. Giving more than 1 though, you can’t spend it.

I know I said it 100 times, but next update should be Monday
