The official instagram account of Civilization has been putting wonder images up again.

Some are from Civ 5 but some are not.

They just put up Great Wall art, wonder where its from?

Someone wrote below one of the pics that its from Civ Facebook game that was years ago, anyone can confirm that?

Andrew Johnson? :)

I don't remember CivWorld (the Facebook game) too clearly, but it didn't have large splash wonder art. Its most important new artworks were the isometric throne room customizations, which are very poor in quality, not indicative of a big art budget. Otherwise, most artworks were reused from Civilization Revolution or Civ5: Civ5's "loading screen maps" represented the 16 player civs, while Civ5's wonder splashes were "great works of art" for the sliding puzzle minigame (alongside stock art like "dogs playing Poker").

I think—but aren't perfectly sure—it reused CivRev's wonder list, likely due to both games being designed by Sid Meier himself, and CivRev's wonders being neatly divided by eras. It certainly reused CivRev's technologies (with minor additions).

Looking at Instagram, the not-in-game art they posted so far includes: Great Wall, Himeji Castle, Notre Dame, and Branbenburg Gate. Himeji Castle appeared in CivRev as "Himeji Samurai Castle", but Brandenburg Gate only appeared in Civ5.

Conclusion: We should trust the Instagram account describing these as Civ5 wonders. They are most likely unused/conceptual/early provisionary Civ5 art.

Also, I think in the Civ5 period, they or the artists had posted some of these publicly, but can't remember which.
