Wonder Graphics: Ziggurat

Yes, it's a model but it suits Civ purposes quite well. It is preferrable to art works anyway and the model does look like the building Ukas made. I will try to find another one though if you prefer.

I'm using this at the moment:

The Ziggurat Ukas made is actually the one from Ur not Babylon. The Marduk Ziggurat in Babylon did have a blue upper temple/sanctuary but the base and other levels differed from the one at Ur (Ukas' model).

Here is a pic of the Ur one:

You're right Porphyrogenitos, I made earlier version of one in Ur, and changed colors for the second version. So there may not have been similar ziggurat with right structure and colors.

It is a great building in any case and the detail is unimportant. I was just referring to a post further above which claimed your building was the Babylon one. :D

No direspect meant to master builder Ukas:worshp:

PS. Love your wonder splash for the building:cool:

Oh no, I wasn't being touchy or anything, just confirmed your post. I've got a flu and nothing to do, you see.

About splashes, it's true I haven't taken them that seriously for some time. I figured I don't want no arguments with site owners about copyright issues, so what I usually do is find some photo hastily and then hit it with a bunch of photoshop effects. I think it's good for all of us if you guys come up with new splashes.
:goodjob:

... So first d/l and response :) . Between Ukas' building graphics and RTF's Splashes, I feel like I've been very blessed with, uh, well, um, Wonders. :D

-- Hmm ... Gotta run ... Must race over to The Silk Road!

Thanks!

Are these buildings used in only scenarios built with them in mind to be used or can you use them in the main game.

AFAIK you can use them in the main game, but you will have to mod the civ3mod.bic/x/q.

To use these buildings, you must cut and paste the graphics into an available slot in:

C:\Program Files\Infogrames Interactive\Civilization III\Art\City Screen\buildings-large.pcx & \buildings-small.pcx

for vanilla Civ 3. For mods / scenarios / conquests, those files will be in the corresponding directories.

Likewise, Wonder Splashes need to go in:

C:\Program Files\Infogrames Interactive\Civilization III\Art\Wonder Splash

for vanilla Civ 3. Once again, for mods / scenarios / conquests, those files will be in the corresponding directories.

Also note that you'll need to add the building in the editor in the "Improvements and Wonders" tab ; the tag "BLDG_buildingname" will be used for your civilopedia.txt and pediaicons.txt entries (search for "BLDG" in these and you'll see how they should look ...)

... BETTER YET, dig through the Reference sub-forum and find Ukas' tutorial on adding buildings :D It's easier to follow than the "short-hand" I've used.

Happy Holidays,

Oz
