What ancient wonders do you want to see in Civ 5?

Some specific comments:

* Petra: Among the New Seven Wonders of the World. Support.
* Ishtar Gate: On the original list of the seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Support.
* Hanging Gardens: Probably did not exist. Oppose.
* Oracle: Based on The Pythia - the Oracle of Delphi. Though a well-known institution in ancient Greece, there was no prominent building for the Oracle, and it is certainly not among the Seven. Oppose.
* Circus Maximus, Colosseum: The Roman Empire has so far not been represented among the Civ wonders, except the Appian Way in CTP 2. Support.
* Sun Tzu's Art of War: Not a physical building. Sun Tzu is preferrably represented as a Great Person. Oppose.

I voted for all of them except abu simbel, Ishtar gate

Seems like there is little interest for other wonders than the 24 above...

I'd say the hanging gardens seem to have existed. I'm no expert, but I assume a poetic creation would not become one of the 7.

I voted for all of them, the more the merrier!

Another one to include, although it is a natural wonder of the world, could be 'The Great Barrier Reef' off Australia.

Abit outside the square, but hey, who said World Wonders have to be a physically built structure. :hmm:

New wonders please, not old ones.

Natural Wonders could be like the special terrain features in SMAC.

I had hoped for more support for Petra.

That completely depends on the wonder list in Civ 5. It could either offer some kind of defense bonus, or be a replacement for the Hanging Gardens (which I would not like to see in the wonder list, as stated above).

Why would you want Petra as a wonder? It was a city, not a monument or building. I agree that the Oracle is not a real wonder, but I would keep it because it's traditional (There's been an oracle in every Civ so far).

EDIT: Removed ******** comment, should have read thread title

Hagia Sophia was constructed 532-537 CE, a half a century after the collapse of the western Empire, so it should probably be considered one of the earliest Medieval wonders, but is a bit late for this list.

The Pantheon of Rome, however, would be an interesting addition, which I don't think has been in any Civ games, and it's certainly a wondrous structure with an interesting history.

I like the idea of Petra, Sphinx, Parthenon, Stonehenge, Terracotta Army, and the Great Wall, and the Pyramids because they are still standing (the Hagia Sophia is a bit late for ancient wonders).
I also voted to bring in the Circus Maximus (that would be cool) and Sun Tzu's AOW and also voted to keep the Colossus and statue of Zeus (along with the ones above).

Pyramid of the Sun - from Teotihuacan - should be in.

I also think that the Cothon of Carthage ought to be a world wonder, not a UB.

I would really like to see a unique wonder for each civ, that only that civ could build. E.g. the Greeks get the Parthenon, the Egyptians get the Pyramids, and so on.

I also agree with the OP that wonders that are really persons, shouldn't be wonders. They are represented already by GPs, so Sun Tzu (and Leonardo, in case they were thinking about bringing back the workshop) should be out.

The Zimbabwe ruins in Zimbabwe should also be considered. It is one of those mysterious cities built by an unknown civilization. Check it out on Wiki

Have to keep the Great Wall! One of the coolest video, and its representation on the map is so cool. Also, the Space Elevator is cool how it shows up. I would like to see other Wonders that have a unique representation on the map where appropriate. Maybe a famous aqueduct that travels several tiles. Mount Rushmore could appear on a nearby mountain tile.
