won't launch

I have been playing vanilla Civ4 on my laptop for about a year, i just purchased BTS, installed it and receive the error...

"teh procedure entry point D3DXGetShaderInputSemantics could not be located in the dynamic link library D3DX9_33.DLL."

I have Directx10, am running Vista and installed the 3.17 patch as well. I have also updated my graphics drivers. When nothing worked i uninstalled BTS, reinstalled it, reinstalled the patch, and am still getting the same error immediately after trying to launch. I have tried launching from both BTS discs, and the vanilla disc, im totally out of ideas....any suggestions?

Certainly sounds like a directX problem. The game uses DirectX 9.0c. Maybe it's buggy with your DirectX 10 version? Try installing DirectX 9.0c, and see if that fixes it.
