World builder???

ok... I hope this is not something really obvious I'm missing...
But where in god's name can you find the world builder application??? I have looked everywhere

Unfortunately, it doesn't look like you can start from scratch. You've got to adjust an existing map (e.g., from a game you start). One of the options (hit ESC) is World Builder.

It's nowhere near as useful as Civ3's map editor. I'm hoping that is improved in a gameplay patch in the VERY NEAR future.

Someone told me on here that it will come in a patch around January if that helps.

The SDK and other tools will be released in a few months time.

Much of the editing you would have found in Civ 3 is now carried out in XML so you will need a basic XML editor tool.
I expect that once all these things are together - you will have a more powerful editor than Civ 3 and C3C

I don't have the game, so I haven't seen it in action - but I have been following the discussion on Civ 4 for about a year.

Rhymes, I tried the same thing. Can only enter the world builder from a game in progress, and even then it's not easy to use.
