World Domination

Which Civ should I play as?

I also voted Vikings; the Berserkergang have the best attack of any unit until Cavalry, and aren't surpassed until Tanks. Not only that, but they are amphibious. Plus, what's cooler than Viking domination?

I also noticed they're 55 shields in this scenario - all the better for a Berserk Earth! That's pretty close to the 40 for Longbows and 60 for Knights. Quite a few Modern Age changes, too - Paratroopers actually look halfway decent for a change! And the Great Library working until Scientific Method should be interesting.

Vikings are teh roxors!!!!! :viking:

I like the World Map used for the scenario, but I don't suppose you could have edited it to include Volcanoes and Marshes (as well as fix some of the things like Sahkalin Island being attached to Japan). :p

One question: Why did you choose 22 civs?

Well, for the map part, I know I would have messed it up if I altered it (I'm not too good with terrain), so I left everything as is, and anyway the Sahkalin Island is just like Sicily, pretty close to the other landmass that troops could just cross in roughly-made boats.

About the 22 civs, that's just how many good starting locations there are, I don't want there to be sucky civs in sucky spots.

You could have put civs in mildly sucky spots.

And I don't think it was wise to put 2 starting locations 5 tiles from each other, which you did 3 times.

Then, in that case, it's Marla Singer's fault.

It's only the Historically accurate starting locations. 2 of them in North America are 5 tiles from each other, and 2 in Europe (one in England, one in France) are 5 tiles from each other.

Although, the one you put in Carthage is 5 tiles from the one Marla put in Italy.

Well Carthage is across the sea, so that doesn't really matter, and I've played this map enough to know that Europe will be very powerful even if it lacks an empire. I've attached the final version of the map in my first post, so just DL it again from the link. The first part is coming soon! (drumroll)

This sucks completely! My PC crashed:mad:  , and it doesn't seem as if I will be able to play Civ3 for a couple of months. Sorry that this is so last-minute, but when I tried to load the mod I got a blue screen and it hasn't yet been able to restart. Worse, the Civ3 disk is stuck inside and it's one of those slot-loading ones where you can't just eject it, so that sucks too:mad: . Sorry for the letdown everyone, but I still can post from my macs, and I have one PC that can't play Civ3 for some technical reason, but I can still edit the scenario from there, so it's not all bad. Once again, this sucks and I regret the terrible letdown. This is why I like Macs more than PCs:mad: .

Aw, that sucks.

That sucks. PCs can be so stupid sometimes. At least you can still make changes to your scenario.

Your PC working yet? :)

Nope. But even if it does I won't be playing many mods, because I have traced the cause to a virus somewhere on my drive that only comes up in certain mods. I'd have to get a new drive because this is one wicked virus, but I now understand how to beat it. I don't think that this story is going to float.:(

:( Sorryn to hear that. I was looking forward to this, it sounded exciting. :(
