WoW is awesome, especially if you find a guild with a good bunch of people to play with. Endgame can be alot of fun if you have time to invest into it too.

It's cool! If you're up to it, start on Shadow Council! It's an RP server though so expect to see people pretend to be their character.

I played the free trial of Lord of the Rings Online and found it to be more entertaining personally. Monster play is a pretty awesome idea. It has a very similar system to WoW as far as leveling and crafting mechanics go, but IMO has much better graphics. But the part it really shines through on is story. It is very cool how everything in the game is completely mirrored to the Tolkien novels. Sort of like when people see a movie and say "The book was better". For LOTRO its about identical as I can imagine it can be. Although charactor classes are rather limited maybe. I would say if you are wanting a game like this to try the demos on both Lord of the Rings and WoW before purchasing. I know LOTRO is offering 7 day free trials now. I wouldn't doubt WoW has one available too.
