Worlds worst city

Anything in China!

Just kidding, Fiyadi! :yeah:

I'd have to say Philadelphia, but Detroit is a close second.

cough-cleveland-cough.

East St. Louis, IL

In the US:

Detroit
Washington (outside the "pretty" areas that is)
Philadelphia
Trenton, NJ
Newark
Gary, Indiana
Buffalo
Richmond
Phoenix (too much growth, traffic, "road rage" in the heat)
Houston

Around the World:

Manila
Rangoon
Jakarta
Bangkok
Calcutta
Guatemala City
Juarez
Matamoros
Mexico City

Rule of thumb: if you're in a "third world" country, the capitals are generally the worst as far as pollution, traffic, chaos and hassle--generally major "growing pains" due to mass migration from the rural areas being more than the city can handle; however the smaller cities (Mandalay, Burma; Chiang Mai, Thailand; Guadalajara, Mexico; Quetzaltenango, Guatemala) can be very pleasant places.

I would say it would be Mexico city!According to Guinness World Record Book 2002,Mexico city is the heaviest populated city in the world!Hell I love green city!I hate anything opposite that!

Delhi and/or Mexico City.
Detroit and the other U.S. cities named in previous posts don't hold a candle.

Let's don't forget Hanoi. Er, um. That is to say, Ho Chi Minh City.
BTW, screw them. ;)

"Detroit and the other U.S. cities named in previous posts don't hold a candle."

Actually, in some ways they do. For instance, I'd bet that Detroit's violent crime rate is higher than Delhi's, or Hanoi's or Saigon's (SAIGON became HCMC, not Hanoi, btw ;)) for that matter (but not Mexico City's though)....

I liked Saigon (most locals still call it that btw) though when I visited--a very vibrant city with vivacious people (Hanoi from what I understand is staid and repressed in comparison, being the seat of communist power in Vietnam--Saigon people feel "far away" from Hanoi and thus are more daring); although like Manila and Bangkok it had the problems of an overcongested city that has grown faster than it can handle....

But safety from violent crime is a BIG factor in how I rate my cities--and while some third world cities are very squalid, at least I feel safer in many of those places (Mexico City is one exception) than I do in cities like Detroit (or Southeast DC)....

Yep, that describes Canberra to a T:lol:

Worst I have been to would be Hong Kong, with Bangkok close second, and Tankograd third(;) )

Everybody, I'm not real comfortible with "worst" lists for cities.

People live in these places, and many are quite happy in them.

Any city can be the 'worst' considering your point of view.

I would prefer a more positive point of view than this.

Since someone is bound to come to the defense of their city if mentioned, I'm affraid I must end this here, BEFORE trouble starts.

Thanks for your attention.
