Inflation seems to cool. Interesting.



Consumer spending, business investment, and government payments are falling faster and by more. Inflations a lagging indicator so things are moving hard and fast to cool price increases.

In February spending went up. Or at least the deficit widened. Could be anything, including less payroll taxes + automatic stabilizers to a completely different set of reasons. I have no idea.
 
I keep reading headlines of people boycotting our products. I don’t know how meaningful it is, but its potentiality is huge. We export for $3 trillion.
 
Gasoline prices are cyclical over a year and also change as oil prices go up and down. In summer they go up as more people drive.
 
As a causal agent lower gas prices is good for the economy. As a correlate, signals of the opposite.

I figured the supply in the storage tanks and the capacity of the refineries to keep up with the demand was also a factor 🤔.
