Is one permitted to ask why the UK version is delayed? Or was it already covered? I didn't read all the posts, just glanced through them real quick. Just curious. . .

Yes "The Mad Swede" everybody outside the US and Canada who use an english version of the game have the UK version.

That's indeed a good question, why the delay for the UK patch? It can't just be extra time for building the executable I hope?
Earlier in this thread I read that the only difference between the US and the UK version is the copy protection. Is this true? If it is, why can't the same patches be used then? Should a patch still check if it's patching a legal copy? If the game is installed, can't they assume automatically then that that is a legal copy? It would certainly make things a lot easier. This would of course mean that people using a cracked version can also upgrade to the latest patch, which might not be so good. But then again, if those really want to install the patch without having a legal version, they would find a way to hack the patch anyway, wouldn't they?
Please note that I do have a legal version of Civ3 and PTW

I was wondering about the Nordic question also. Have a "Danish" copy.
My legal PTW CD can't get past the copy control, so I've had to download the cracks (replace the exe. file) in order to play the game. Will this be a problem with the update? And will I have to wait till someone comes up with a playable exe.
Or is the update supposed to fix this problem??

The copy protection is in the .exe file itself, and since the upgrade replaces this file the upgrades need to be different for each different copy protection system.

I'm not sure if I should laugh or cry, versions that need translations are fixed, version that needs just another cd protection system isn't. I'm not even going to try to comprehend the reasons behind this. I'm gonna have a good laugh though (so no crying!)
