Worst Bodily Accident (break, fracture, etc.)

Fell on my chin when I was a kid. Got stitched. I still have th scar.

Had a motorcycle crash at work (summer job=delivering mail) yesterday. My knee still hurts, I'm not quite sure what it is, but I'm too lazy to go see a doctor.

He, I lost count of how many times I've broken fingers playing basketball.

I guess that's what happen when you are not that good, but is sttuborn and plays anyway.

Regards :).

When I was 16, I was in the back of a friend's pickup truck. Two people in the cab, 4 in the back including myself. A drunk woman ran a stop sign and we couldn't stop in time. We hit the side of her car which caused the pickup truck to drag to the side and then flip two and a half times. Everyone went flying, and the truck ended up on it's side on the sidewalk pinning me to the ground. The bed of the truck was across my lower back and ass. I was laying there thinking 'I can't breathe. Oh, well the truck is on me.' So I am facedown, and I reach back thinking to lift the truck up with my right arm and drag myself from underneath with my left. It did not work. So I can not breathe as my diaphram cannot expand, and I'm thinking 'I'm gonna die, this sucks...' Passenger was stuck brecause his seat belt was holding him hanging in the cab. The driver climbed out the top and by himself lifted the truck up onto it's wheels so I could drag myself out. He set it down on my foot. I said 'Ouch my foot!' so he lifted it again and I pulled my foot out. I lay there catching my breath and I told the guys (there were 5 others besides me) to just give me a minute and I'll walk it off. That did not happen either. I went to the hospital and it ended up that I had two breaks in my pelvis, one broken vertebrae, and one crushed vertebrae. After a week, my abdomen was bloated with internal bleeding so exploratory surgery (which left me with a 10 inch scar down the center of my abdomen) showed up holes in my intestines. They had bruised and then swelled and ruptured. This was taken care of. Draining of fluorescent yellow green fluids from my bruised organs was interesting. Morphine was great. Jello sucks to this day. Amazingly enough, I am not paralyzed. I have a patch on my right shin that is half numb always, but that is it. I lost a half inch in height, and I actually am crooked due to the crushed vertebrae. You can only tell from the 10 inch scar on my stomach as it leans to my left. Oh, and they stapled me instead of stitching me which was interesting. My sister was about 2 weeks from giving birth but my accident put her into labor early. She had my nephew two floors above me.

I can still vividly remember the entire accident. My friend yelling 'Look out!' to the driver, the tires squealing, the sound of metal crunching (but no impact)... I never blacked out until I was in the ambulance. Oh, and my foot only got a nasty bruise.

Turns out the drunk woman had no insurance, owned nothing, and her passenger that night was an off-duty police officer who was more drunk than she and told her to drive so he would not get in trouble. She ended up with a 6 month probation and suspended license. The police officer was still on the force 2 years later.

Oh yah, my hospital bills cleared $90,000...

I got a settlement of $17,000.

Never broke anything, or done anything serious, im just lucky i guess. This the most serious stuff thats happened to me:

- Sprained wrist while playing football at school (soccer to all you Americans;) ) Took a maths test half an hour later lol.

-Cracked a bone in my ankle, again while playing football. Could barely walk for 2 weeks. Since it felt no better 2 weeks later, i decided I should see a doctor, who told me i had cracked a bone and shouldnt be walking on it, so i would need crutches. However by that time it had healed a bit so i was told to simply take it easy for a couple more weeks. To this day the foot is at awkward angle lol (and before anyone asks no it does not stick out at 90 degrees, its ever so slighty lopsided)

-I was at a friends house on the last day of my last year of primary school. I accidently smacked my head on the corner of a table, i fell over and started laughing, my friends laughed with me until they saw the blood. It was everywhere, and i think the stain, along with others:p, was still on the carpet several years later. It looked much much worse than it was though, i was fine, although i did throw up later that day.

It was an experience I'll say that much. Other than that, I've broke a toe and sprained ONE FINGER THREE TIMES... Fairly conservative minus the one... :)

My worst injury was infection in upper heel (not a good thing if you're a sprinter)
I could run without problems but after finish line and starting to slow up, it really hurted and worst thing was that I couldn't practice or warm up before races well. I missed 1½ seasons but now I'm doing quite well, I'm 3rd fastest 14-year-old boy in my Region (Central Finland).

EXPLANATION: I broke my wrist by sliding the part of my radius that connects to my wrist from its place to the other side of my wrist where the ulna is. The doctor manipulated my arm, manually, with his hands to try and put it back it place. It was the most painful physical experience I have ever known.

Three years ago I was on my bike going down a bike path, when I ran into a rollerblader(She wasn't hurt) and what happened was my arm smashed against the handle bar and I broke my arm. Had a cast for six weeks.

Dislocated kneecap.
