Have you ever read the Dave Barry book about the worst songs of all time. It is simply hilareous. To qualify for a Worst Song it has to have some comercial success. Songs that top the list are MacArthur Park(bad metaphores), Timothy(canibalism in a coal mine), and the Pina Colada Song(terrible)

Anyway, What would you say is the absolute worst song of all time?

Oh I forgot to warn folks that this book has caused the break-up of several marriages, so this thread may ruffle some feathers. Lets keep it fun.

That Kylie Minogue song.

Any of the Spice Girls numbers has to be high on the list.

Repeat for dozens of manufactured and commercial girl and boy bands.

Now that I think about it I see that there are too many options. I didn't realize they made so many pop songs in the 90s...

Read this thread places me in great personal danger. I fear simply the song-titles will be enough to force a bad song into my head, where it will latch itself and spread like a disease, repeating the same painful process endlessly until insanity ensues.
I wouldn't want to engage in such personal risk.
Read this thread with caution.

Afternoon delight by Star Land Vocal Band (Homer Simpson had them as a tatoo! )

"Long Haired Lover from Liverpool" comes to mind...

How 'bout that episode when Homer kept playing "Uptown Girl" at the commune. That song really rubs me the wrong way(as do most Billy Joel tunes)

dr alban, tomas brolin, björn borg and forth guy had group called "friends in need" and they release a song called "alla vi". singing it is still the most ironic thing you can do in sweden. :D

Forth Guy? Whatever happened to him?

In Israel we have better irony - Dana International singing a song called "there are girls"... :D

:D a typo. it should be fourth. :D

the story about "alla vi" is pretty funny too. they made a terrible video with no deaper plot than girls with silicon. they also bought plenty of their own single to make it climbe the charts, but that was revealed. the members of "friends in need" were bullied in media in like one and a half year after that. :D

how does it continue?:D

btw, you shouldn't say anything before you've heard "alla vi" and seen the video to it.;) :D

For your listening enjoyment try...

William Shatner - "The Transformed Man" - absolutely the WORST CD I have ever heard.

Telly Savalas - self titled (I think)

A couple of bluegrass versions of Pink Floyd (There's a remake of "The Wall" by Luther Wright and the Wrongs, and I've also seen a bluegrass Pink Floyd compilation in the shops several times, but haven't yet had the nerve to buy it)

Was that the Shatner LP with Lucy in the Sky w/Diamonds and Mr Tambourine Man? That was a riot. He should have been shot for that one.

Any so-called song by the walking audio atrocity called 'wheetus'.

Primarily for mentioning the sacred name of Iron Maiden in their vomit-inducing lyrics...

Death by Maverik missile is the only sentence!
