Worst Start Ever

I just started my first game on emperor and I think I got a really bad start. All lands souths of the isthmus of Constantinople were jungles and marshes. Any advice?

Well, I guess it could have been worse. It looks like the Japanese island there has only mountains and desert. The French at least have a fresh-water lake and horses.

Quite frankly, I'd abandon the game and re-roll a new start...but then, I'm not known for toughing things out.

The thing that would annoy me is your continent is tiny. But other than that It isn't the worst start location I've seen. I would play on.

Truth be told I'd generate another map or find a better capital spot for a jump.

i've had bad starts like that. but make a few workers and clear the jungle

Not too bad. Had a start recently with nothing but mountains in the north, then a big desert followed by a huge jungle. Not a whole lot of food sources, but I guess I did have some resource opportunities....no horses though.

Not worth it especially not in conquests.
