I would like to congratulate all of you who gave this game a try. :clap:
Warlords Deity is one of the most difficult games to play in Civ4.

Duckweed's win in 1226 AD is an impressive achievement. :hatsoff:

Congratulations to the winners and all who shared in the spoiler threads. :goodjob:

Here's where everyone settled.

The Small Print:
The numbers by each player's name indicate the turn settled on (starting turn is 0). Players are colour coded by game class (challenger=red, adventurer=blue). Symbols indicate victory condition, if there's no symbol then the player either retired or was defeated. The yellow border indicates the land that was visible at the start of the game.

Wow, there were a lot more victories than I expected! Congratulations to all the winners! This aggravates the grudge I harbor against Wang for taking my wheat/iron site. :mad: If only he hadn't settled there so early and far away from the rest of his cities I coulda won, yeah! He tasks me. He tasks me.

[Edit: Ah, wrong results page at first. Only 6 actual winners this time, so that soothes the sting a little. But I'm still hatin' on Wang. ;).]

I'm not surprised that a good number of players showed their ability of beaten Warlord deity. The main reason is certainly that more players have improved skills, and the 2nd but more important reason goes to the kindly map maker.;)

@BBP
Are going to add the deity WOTM to a regular rotation?

@Jesusin
Will the GOTM63 be Deity?

Heh, he did the same to me, and it was undoubtedly one of the most annoying experiences ever. He just felt like sailing a galley in to settle it across half the map out of the blue. But the warrior defended barb cities made up for it.

Game setup was kind, and probably had to be for victories to be possible for some of us. I am happy to win, happy to at least destroy one AI on warlords deity, and happy that that decision gave me a medal.
Congrats to all who played and enjoyed it. These games are way more fun than random prince level BOTMs that 200 ppl win.

Maybe next Deity XOTM will be so hard that only Duckweed can win :D

Only 6 people managed to win, and in my case it was dumb luck.... but it was a very enjoyable game.

Congrats to all the winners! :thumbsup:

I think so, but you'll have to a wait quite a while for the regular rotation to, hmmm... rotate. ;)

Thanks. I really don't see why deity in Warlord and Vanilla should be an exceptional level when many players have shown solid ways to beat it.:lol:

Many? :p

Had it been as the map generator gave it, think it might have been fewer. :)

As I joined the forum pretty late so that the majority of the game I read were BTS and I have read hundreds of threads of BTS deity games. I believed most of them were naturally generated.

My personal feeling of the difficulty of Warlord and BTS is quite similar. Although AIs in Warlord are able to tech a lot faster than in BTS, human player is also able to have the the dominant unit -- cavalry a lot earlier. Almost all deity players are very aggressive players and know how to take the advantage of AI's biggest weakness -- war. Players (emperor and immortal players are also capable of winning some easy deity maps) who are capable of beating BTS deity should have little problem to beat Warlord and Vanilla deity. On the other hand, even sophisticated immortal players have to retire in some immortal game -- check this :D
