My computer keeps giving me the message:

C:\Windows\system32\rasman.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or contains an error. Try installing the program again using original instillation media or contact your system administrator or software vendor for support.

I have no idea what this means an I'd like to be rid of this nusance. I've checked and my computer does actually have this program on it, and it is not a spyware or virus program.

How do I "install it again using original instillation media," or contact my system administrator or software vendor for support?

Is there any other way to get rid of this issue? Could I simply delete this program.

Thank you very much for your responses.

rasman.dll is a module that provides functions for Remote Access for other applications. Check that rasman.dll is stable on your computer.

It sounds like you need to reinstall Windows or at least replace the broken DLL. (If you google it, you should find it. Do a virus scan though!)

Won't reinstalling windows take a lot of time or delete a lot of files or something? If not then how do I do it?

Searching for the missing file could lead to a quicker and painless solution to your problem, reinstalling Windows on the other hand will take a long time; depending on the Windows you might have to format the computer (or at least the drive the OS is on, usually C:\) which will lead to loss of data.

I tryed downloading this program at http://www.dlldll.com/downdll/4931.html

It kinda worked.

But I wasn't able to find and replace the original version of rasman.dll and my computer says it cannot open it.

In addition, the old version of the file is located under C:\Windows\system32 and the new version of the file is under C:\Windows\System32

Are they in two different places? And if they are, how come I can't find the place the old file is loacted in?

I don't think that folders are caps-sensitive.

Reinstalling Windows takes a while, and even if you have backups, you can lose some data (for example, my backup DVD-RW got scratched.). But it can work especially if the computer's a big mess.

If you have a normal Windows install disc, it will have what is called a repair installation mode. It will basically copy over the required windows files to where they should be. Its very handy for when you have a broken dll or sys file. Google it for more info.
