AOL has became officially free for anybody with internet connection. What that means, is you can use AOL software and content and e-mail like you are their own user. I'm not sure about free availability of advanced options such as spyware scanner.

I'm wondering if anybody finds that useful and is willing to at least try AOL 8.0 or 9.0.

AOL is just bad. Bad, I tell you. My family and I used AOL for a long time, and they still do. I quit about a year ago. AOL is awful, it has an awful user interface, its all about teenagers now, and everything about it annoys me.

Yeah, only if they were the last and only way to get on the net and there were no other connections I could use (like, someone else's house).

Even then I would clean the computer afterwards.

Its fun to see the AOL disks burn. Some of the promo ones make pretty flashes when they go up in flames

Watching the "Who framed Spraychel" commercial is not fun, especially when they turn the volume up just for the commercials and not for the show but at least it's free I guess.
