If we had a button that said "HEY WAIT A MINUTE! HOLD EVERYTHING!!!" :crazyeye: How many times have I wanted to do something and then, just when I want to move some critical peice somewhere, all my prior automatic move designations come back to haunt me and all 400 of my workers decide it's time to go about their preordained business. It's even a nightmare trying to stop them before they get started - hell knows if you don't fortify them ALL then the first one you move will set off a cascade and you'll never get any of them to do what you might want them too now that the world has changed since you first automated them

I hope some developer on the team gets a look at this and thinks it might be a nice check to have...just a frickin' button you can click at the start of the turn to put evewryone who is on automatic temporarily on hold!

regards,
Lup

I'll make sure they get the word. There have been quite a few times when I would have liked this.

Did you try checking the "always wait at end of turn" option in preferences? This won't do exactly what you want (if I understand what you want) but it helps a great deal.

I alos hate the fact that there is NO WAY of stopping auto-moves.

I would love a simple pop-up asking:

'automove now?
yes
no'

If you do this, the auto-move units will still take off before the end of the turn. I have this on from the get-go, and its always manual moves, auto move, then any remaining moves. Very frustrating.

What I'd like to see is a switch you could set where it would say something like "Press any key to start auto moves" or some such. It would also be nice if you could highlight the automove workers somehow. . .

Very, very frustrating.

yep, and while we are at it: where is the 'activate when done' button for workers? i hate taking them off auto as all they did on that tile will be lost if they aren't done all the way (like 10 turns of jungle clearing when it takes 12 to finish), but if I don't they'll move on...... Why can't I tell them to 'finish this tile, then wait for orders'?

That would be useful too. I've often lamented this. The code is prectially in place, as when you click on a worker that is doing something, the window pops up and asks if you want to finish their task. There could be a third option saying "Finish then wait for new orders."

I would like to see that button or pop-up. I have gone through the same mess with having to find another worker somewhere in my empire that can complete the task. It gets you quite fustrated trying to do something when your workers won't listen.

Yes, I would very much like to see an "interrupt" option. I don't know how many times I've wanted to do something with a unit, waited until the end of the turn, then forgotten what it was I had planned to do.

While they're at it, I would love to see a "view" mode. It's annoying as hell to accidently send some unit to the other side of the continent when all I wanted to do was have a look around the area.

That would be cool!!! :)
On the other hand, i would just like to have sort of an undo button. Several times i mis-click on a neighboring cell, or click on build a fortress rather than mine or irrigate, by mistake.
We could have the undo button that takes into account the last move, provided it has not revealed any new terrain / enemy unit / enmy city, etc. (otherwise it would be too easy :) )

There is an undo button: it's called Reloading. . .:) Seriously, that would be nice. I've had to reload several times for doing something like that. It's a pain in the butt. . . Especially trying to remember what it was you did before having to reload.
