@ Rocotech, I've been playing the huge map for couple turns now as germany, and i have small suggestion about Poland. In beta, it's possible to take all polish cities within one turn, because there are so few units inside the cities. Couple garrisons in each city would make it more challencing for german player.
I know this is a minor thingy, but some finnish cities are named incorrectly. suggested changes...
Vasa ---> Vaasa
Åbo ---> Turku
Torneå ---> Tornio
other than that, this is looking fantastic :)

I too took out poland on week 37 (1 turn). The interesting thing about this and the way it is setup is that if you do not take them out; the majority of the units in the field will retreat to the city and garrison. Then it becomes more of a challenge.

As a result, I like it the way it is. Forces Germany to really "blitz" their enemy.

oljb007,

I am looking forward to hear how the campaign in France turns out.
If its possible to defeat France in a 10-weeks (or less) campaign I think its
realistic.

Yes, but it's not really a challenge to just take their cities. in RL, it took a month to conquer poland (4 turns), and if roco adds more garrisons the timeline would be quite similiar in the game as it was in RL.

I have a problem and i cannot be bother to search this thread to find the answer. Everytime I am trying load the game it freeze whenever it is configuring the scenario. What is the problm and how can I fix it?

classical_hero,

You may see the "configuring" screen 3-40 minutes.
I think it will load within 10 minutes on most computers, but it can
take 30-40 minutes if you have less than 512 MB RAM.
Anyway it does load when you see the "configuring" screen.

andis-1,

When I get reports on how long time it takes to complete
the campaign in France I will decide whether if to change the current
start-positions for the Polish units or not.

It looks like that new computer for myself is coming sooner than I thought. This is massive.

Hello Rocoteh,
Bug report. (version 2.0 SID)
Playing the Italians, got a CTD when looking at the info for the G-50 Freccial.

Got a load error: art\civilopedia\icons\units\G-50FreccialLarge.pcx
Saw in that map the unit named G50FrecciaLarge.pcx and the ini called G-50Freccia.ini
I suppose i have to rename the pcx?
thanks

Andis-1

after I took the first city and saw there were only 2-3 units in it, I decided to annotate the number of units in each of the cities I took.

With the current scenario, if you let it go past 1 turn the field units will make it back to the cities, garrison and then I think it would take longer than a month. Regardless, and I think as Rocoteh is getting at, Poland is not really of that much concern(due to ease of adjustment), France will be the true tell. German troops entered Paris in 6 weeks. That is the mark by which I judge. Paris in 6 weeks.

Rocoteh,

I also noticed there are 3 different sub classes to start with (I think) which I really like. That will add some depth to the naval aspect; which I didn't notice as an issue but love the change.

No it won't. Germans have more than enough infantry to overcome the defenders, and complete air superiority makes things even easier. in 2 turns, luftwaffe can kill all defenders from any polish city at easy...

Hi Roco

I haven't been around since June ... been recovering from illness ... but I have been playing 1.9 while convalescing.

The first thing ... WOW - 4070+ posts and still going strong. Great stuff.

I am fascinated by the 'beta' of the huge map but cannot find where to download it ... if you could point me in the right direction I will be happy to offer another playtest voice.

All the best.

Dazz.

I cannot get the scenario to work. Everytime I have tried to load the game, the game automatically shuts off. The game does not load for me.

Classical hero,

Are you sure you have placed the biq-file in the scenario-folder
of Conquests? Its a very common mistake to place it in the
scenarios-folder of CIV III instead.

oljb007,

Thank you. I am glad to hear that.
Yes, this change should create a more realistic situation,
since the coastal submarines should be of marginal value in ocean
operations.

andis-1,

As mentioned earlier, its possible I will make changes to
the Polish start positions when its clear how long time the campaign in
France will take.
